Slow patching

I downloaded this game today and it has been patching for over an hour, but still only at 6%. Is this normal?

    It is going super fast now. lol At 38% from 6 in 12 minutes. lol

    The patch server is a bit glitchy sometimes. Sometimes it goes really fast and then it'll pause for a bit and then go slower. Then speed up again.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    My download was stuck at 6% for a while yesterday. I had other things to do so I canceled the download. Started it back up today and it went pretty fast. The prepatching is what bugs me. It will start, download a little and shut itself down until I exit the game next time. Just me I guess but I still think it is weird. Why doesn't it finish perpatching the first time it starts downloading?

    That's not what it's doing. While the prepatch is live, it downloads it the first time and checks to see if the files are there each time afterwards.
