PS4 related questions

Been slowly levelling a character on the ps4 version and there seem to be things missing or simply not explained well enough.

Is it possible to get rid of the ever present aiming reticle or have it only show in combat?

Is it possible to rebind controls at all? Personally I hate the thumbstick for the scanning type minigames as it has too much travel and a far better solution for controls would have been the dpad or ABXY buttons.

I got the ground set from the mirrors and smoke featured mission and can't see anything for the 3 set ability. Is this normal for all sets on console?

When I lock onto a target in space and try to shift onto a different hostile the game only ever targets friendlies. How in the world do I get it to only cycle through hostiles when locked on?

On PC I can swap between ships or shuttle in space pretty much anywhere I want. Where is the option to do this in space? Shuttle bridge lets me select a different starship but I can't visit other decks on my starship so that option is locked out. And there's no option visible in sector space while flying either starship or small craft. Do we really have to find to a ship npc for swapping between vessels?

Is there a way of seeing what buffs and debuffs are active on a character?

Is there a bug that prevents you from seeing what boff abilities you have when you try and select them?

Last night I was getting driven daft by the ship swap and boff ability things thanks to the vault mission. I flew over in my ship and then had to fly back to starbase 39 to swap to the delta flyer and then trying to blindly figure out where beam overload was on my boffs list. Likewise with the other boff seat to get that ability to the one I wanted.

There are some good features in the console version and I've found that flying escorts is actually quite fun on a controller but there are other things that just strike me as being signs of a lazy port such as the scanning game controls via thumbstick.

Do red alerts not happen on the PS4? The pve queue list doesn't have any listed and none show up on the sector map.

Without them there doesn't seem to be a reliable way of getting certain rep marks as going by the hour long wait noone is doing the lukari missions and the bz is deader than on PC with just myself actively doing anything in it. Which was pretty much only gaining ship mastery xp because you still only get rewards for capping not defending and the counterattacks assume a full zone of active players.

    Just to tackle a few:

You can change ships/small craft in Ship menu pressing the Triangle button (when in space), no need to go back to dock. It says right there in Ship menu on the bottom of the screen :) (Cannot do so in mission, however.)

Change Boff abilities in Skills - Crew Station menu, do not try it through the Ship menu, it doesn't work.

Red Alerts on consoles are events far and wide in between, not sure why it got a different treatment than on PC where it is a regular/daily occurrence.

    No way to see buffs/debuffs.

3 piece Mirror set - if there indeed is an active 3 piece ability it doesn't show as far as I recall, so that might be a bug. Normally abilities show from set combos. Will try later on, I just slapped the set on my Boff.

    No control rebinding.

No getting rid of reticle and the targeting takes a little time to getting used to/is not very intuitive/user friendly.

PC red alerts used to be on a timer, also needed you to go over to it, and got changed to being always there but timelocked between visits.

Pretty sure that predated the console release so it is a surprise to find that its not there, real shame as that seemed to be the only reliable way to get my engineer the lukari rep drone since the queue seemed to be dead and the bz was a total bust for a freshly dinged 60.

The Tzenkheti BZ got ported over from PC with its bugged spawn rate and as such it is really hard to win the whole zone/impossible. That is why so few people play that. To get marks, just do 2 rounds in the King of The Hill area as usually you have to "clean the zone" in first round (where the meter won't go over you "holding" the area - no marks) and second round where the meter will properly go over with enough effort and you get your marks at the end. Can totally do that alone.

Also, certain times of day, the Lukari Q's are fairly fast to pop since it is still a newer Rep. But that really depends on luck the majority of the time. Can you get a team together from your fleet/friends?

I suspect they didn't include the daily Red Alerts on consoles just because they wanted to force people to play the Qs. Might still come eventually.

And we still have the summer event active where the bird/monkey breeding on Risa (and daily Flying High after you get your summer ship) get you your choice of marks with Lukari included.

Yeah PC version was bad enough that I stopped trying and used red alerts and the recent MI event to top out and trade marks to tokens for lukari things I wanted.

4 or 5 days off the ship but was assuming they weren't included because the bird trading doesnt do lukari or comp.

I am pretty sure Birds/Monkeys give you Lukari choice. I'll confirm when I get on later today. It does not give Competitive.

Edit: Yes, indeed, they give out Lukari marks.
