Purchasing decisions

So here is a rather "first-world" dilemna; I have 753 Lobi, and I want to get the Intel Dreadnought. Should I just buy it, or purchase another T6 Lobi ship and sell it, and then buy an Intel Dreadnought off the Exchange?

I have another character whom I would like to get a D4x. Thing is, I have terrible luck with lockboxes :P So I was wondering, if I buy some other ship and sell it on the Exchange (ideally one that costs more than the Intel Dreadnought), I could both purchase the Intel Dreadnought and add some more EC to my savings for a D4x. Thing is, I worry that noone would buy the ship I put onto market- the classic marketer's dilemma and gamble- and thus I am consulting the wisdom of the forums.

    Oh wait.... I'm likely not going to get an answer before the sale ends. Well, I think I will play it safe and just buy the Intel Dreadnought directly from the Lobi store. Eh, I can always just wait a bit longer to make enough EC.

    Why not just check the prices on the exchange and then see if you can get some extra credits ? I mean, it's right there for you to check in game. :)
