So I'm perusing the internet for suggestions on space sets suitable for my play style and ship (I play a Fed battlecruiser like its a super heavy escort). The Iconian Space Set gets a lot of love from folks but that's now what, a year or two old? Maybe some veterans out there have sets from many or all the reputation collections and/or the mission grinds and have input. I'm currently using the Quantum set, and had the Solanae Dyson set and Jem'Hadar sets as before (all mk XII, waiting for an upgrade weekend to gear up stuff).
I don't play PvP all that much and I expect that's where it really would matter, but perspectives are welcome!

but some general things. first forget about age this is not one of those mmo where new gear ouright replaces the old every time. even the borg set still has it's uses. iconian is pretty much the best for pure energy dmg. terran is still good if you have 3 oe more system over 75.

What I want to do I suppose is have a set that makes survivability in end-game content like Procyon 5 PvE manageable with minimal respawns. The Iconian space set does still look good overall, just curious if it still holds water relative to other sets that came out post-Season 10.
iconian should work fine for survivability. if your having any problems with procyan 5 use the Trellium-D Plating console from Ragnarok. and in less your flying the command sci battle cruiser I'd switch from the Quantum Phase Applications set, in any case. it more of a sci focus set and none of the other battle crusiers can really make the most it.
another choice, cause just doing the meta thing is kinda dull, switch back to jem hadar and get the Lukari Restoration Initiative Armaments set which has a proc which increases your regeneration both hull and shield. should help any survivability problems. you could also use the Chronometric Calculations Set which is pretty powerful.
and since your in a battle cruiser you may want to think about switching to cannons. beams are great and all but one of the perks of a battle cruiser is the ability to use duel heavy cannon. this would open up another choice the counter command sets, which in my opinion are rather underrated. and the weapon set comes in ether phaser or disrupter. if you go phaser you can add the Quantum Phase Catalysts for greater defensive power or run disruptor for all the offensive boons like the terran weapon set.
Edit: oh and if you don't have em think about adding polarize hull and/or hazard emitters. can't tell you how they have save me a trip back to respawn.
