Holoemitters for Fanfavourite ships.

I was wondering if Cryptic would consider a system where if you buy a C-store ship you also can buy a holoemitter of that ship that DOES NOT EXPIRE from the C-store. This would make it profitable for Cryptic.

I think it would make sense if you could only equip a "Defiant" holoemitter on a Tactical Ship, etc.

I for one would play more often if my ship looked like a canon ship than a made up ship. This would allow players to combine the appearence of the Defiant with the improved stats of the Pilot Escorts, etc.

There is nothing wrong with it but the stats on the pilot escorts are way better:

    5 fore weapons.
Shield Modifer 1.05 instead of 0.9.
    Pilot manouvers.
    Higher Turn rate.
    Higher Impulse Modifier.
    Higher Inertia.
    Extra Console than C-store Defiant.
    More specilisation seating.
    etc.

Is there anything good about the T6 Defiant? I just bought a 3 cross faction pack with it during the recent sale because I wanted the scatter volley trait for my cannon guys.

I only used it enough to get the trait, but it was easily the worst T6 ship I've flown. The only plus I can see about it at all is you can put a cloaking device on it.

I'd be for it. I'd love to have the visuals of a Galaxy class on my Arbiter.

The ship tailor is as far as Cryptic wants your freedom of choice to extend when you buy a ship. That way you will never mate the ship stats you want to a ship identity you desire and thus obtain your 'final' ship.

If you never get your perfect ship you remain a paying customer as you purchase their every offering seeking the unobtainable. A satisfied customer has found his fit, and doesn't need to keep looking.

I see your point, but if a ship with better stats became available, I would still want it and I would be more likely to get it if I knew I could make it look like a Defiant or Excelsior, etc.

Well then they better not ever release the T6 temporal lockbox and lobi ships, even though it's eventually going to happen, because if they do that I've found the last "final" ship for my various characters. All but my main has what I consider to be their "final" T6 ships with stats and loadouts I'm comfortable with. Only my main is still using a T5-U Wells and Mobius so once those are out, and make no mistake they'll eventually be out thanks to console getting T6 versions of all the different lockboxes, I'll have every ship I want on all my characters. I'll have obtained what you call "unobtainable" so they've failed in that regard with me. The only way I'd ever upgrade is if the theoretical T7's are so far above and beyond that they're crazily broken unlike how small the actual difference between T5-U and T6 are. Until then I'm at least one point of proof that your idea doesn't work for everyone.

Hmm, Cryptic may not go for that. IDIC sort of takes a hit when everyone starts to holo-fly the ship they like best visually (whilst, underneath, still switching ships).

Also -- but I'm not sure of this -- it may be a kind of twisted 'balance' thingy too, like 'beauty' vs. 'stats' (in the way that ppl really used to like the Reman shield, for instance, but it had TRIBBLE stats, so you kinda had to make a choice).

Then again, they gave us ship visuals for Shield, etc., too; so they might as well go all the way. :)
