You mean the CBGC©® (Comic Book Guy Consortium).

The new steps taken by the devs to increase the ec cap across the game is a welcome change, but I don't think it goes far enough. It's only partially relaxed the strain on my inventory as I was able to shift a few dozen keys to ec. I'd really like for the personal ec cap to be raised up to around 4 billion.

    Baby steps, however.
I haven't been able to log in for a while, could you tell me the average price for keys at the moment?

Keys are less than 5.1m, their price has gone down since the exchange and banks were fixed.
Oh dear :( Thanks for the update, though :) If only there was trading graphs and charts available which could be followed like the real stock exchange :D

What this game needs is Buy/Sell orders, like in EvE Online. :) EvE also keps excellent price charts of about every item you could buy.

Definitely! Maybe an account-linked exchange phone app, which would allow people to log in and dabble on the exchange, might be a possibility #FingersCrossed

Yeah...I play in a korean MMO that does that. STO does not need this. This playerbase doesn't even understand simple economics...you want them to run the exchange like an actual commities market and have this playerbase understand?!? Bad idea...just bad idea.
But how would it hurt? The exchange is essentially a separate game to the ships and the pew pew pew, so the people who understand it, might get a kick out of some mobile-trading, those who don't, or who only go to the exchange to get their first TR-116B (Oh how I remember that proud day) will just carry on with what they're doing, and treat the exchange like a store, rather than a revenue stream :)

So...you admit they are just imaginary. Good, now that we are on the same page on that nonesense, about those images....

No, that others besides myself believe in the CBGC©® (Comic Book Guy Consortium).

And as for my images, they are staying.

So DEAL WITH IT. :p ~curtsy~

But you still agree with azreal that it's imaginary. You do realize that is what you are saying...right?

At least shrink them down for christ sake. I find myself agreeing with nabreeki and that is a wierd wierd place to be. So stop it before the universe implodes.

And I find myself agreeing with smokebailey, and that's a good place to be. :) She makes beautiful renders, and this forum supports images. So DEAL WITH IT.

Honestly, I don't understand this weird/stalky obsession some people have with her and her art. Just leave her be.

Okay, but now I have to ask, what is this CBGC©® (Comic Book Guy Consortium)?! :) Google doesn't even have it listed.

    Nevermind. :)

Of course the CBGC©® (Comic Book Guy Consortium) is imaginary! Because, as I explained in the other thread, in RL you wouldn't get away with that, as people would simply get their stuff elsewhere. In STO, however, yep, the Exchange, being the only store in town, pretty much allows for CBGC© practices.

N.B. Really bizarre, btw, how you'll are now attacking smokebailey on whether the CBGC is real or not. LOL. Didn't know about that Simpsons thing, but I thank smokebailey for bringing it up. Such imagery (like her own art work) is worth a 1,000 words! (But all y'all would just relist it for 10,000, is the point. :P)

People alreaqdy accuse certain other people of cornering markets using the simple exchange. Of they did what meimei actually wanted to, they really COULD corner markets and price gouge. There is a reason why commities markets have limits and rules in place. Even in the korean MMO, they have such things to keep it from spiraling out of control. And that game learned to put such things in place after the market went off the deep end into unusable by anyone not gaming the market bad. So yes, lots of things can go wrong with this idea if a few people knows how these things all work and abuse the hell out of it because you just unleashed an unregulated commities market. And to make it even worse, we have a base of currecny source that is completely ignorant of even basic economics (the korean MMO actually has a much higher standard of education for example...and it still ended badly). It would be a bloodbath. Bad idea...just bad idea.
That's actually the way stock exchanges operate though. It's like that old saying, 'If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen' ;) Like I said to meimei, the exchange, That, is the Real PvP. If someone wants to get into the game of listing their goods for one ec less than the next person, then that's exactly what they're doing: Player vs Player. The real fun, is when they try and do it and go below a certain point, and it's then more beneficial to just buy their item to take it from them, and repost theirs and yours, for the price you want. That's what a stock exchange is. It's not a nicey-nicey swap meet with light refreshments and raktajino. It's a place where brokers do vast amounts of ketracel to Stay Sharp and then have coronaries on the exchange floor :D:D Anyone off the turnip-truck naively thinking they're just going to set up their stall, sell their goods and just go home? They'll be selling their shirts to pay for a cab home if they're not careful, or sitting in Captain Brott's cargo bay, using their finger to power an antique gramophone :D:D

As I was saying, anyone who uses the exchange as a store (where prices can and will change) they're not going to be bothered about an app, and probably not even with the prices (so long as they can afford them) it would only be used by those who really want to play the exchange and PvP it, and even they (I would hope) would understand that stuff still needs to be sold at appropriate prices. Slapping a high price on something is no guarantee of a sale, and pricing everything out of people's reach or willingness to pay, just results in a false-high and stagnation. I wouldn't, for example, try and list a Mirror Escort for 4M and expect it to sell. I definitely wouldn't buy all the Mirror Ecorts below that price and then list them all at that price, because the average buyer (and that's who we have to price to) will just think 'Eff that, I'll get something else.' Cornering can work in the short-term. The very short term (requiring that total attention or it's blink and miss it) but gouging, that's just being uncool, and can only last for as long as the person is willing to pay that price.

When I first looked at Vaadwaur anchor drones, they were selling at a couple million. I picked a few up, but then found out that that had been some spike, and in the end, I was chucking them away at about 10k just to free up the space (awesome little drones though, I'd highly recommend anyone who plays engineer and likes ground combat to pick one up) The exchange, I've found, finds an equilibrium pretty quickly. Those Normal reward packs for doing red alerts, they cycle pretty much over twenty four hours.

I've seen you mention this badass Korean mmo a few times, what is it?
