Will there ever be another R&D weekend event?

It's been a long time since I've seen an R&D weekend event. Will they ever schedule another one? There have been a bunch of Dil, XP, and Mark weekends since the last R&D one I can remember (November 16th I think https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/xbox/star-trek-online/news/detail/10260533-star-trek-online:-r&d-weekend-event)

    Do people ask "will there ever be another solstice?" just because they only happen every 6 months or so?

    The last one was actually back in March 30, 2017 for console players.

    Considering it takes forever to level up R&D, does 3 days of 50% bonus really matter?

    I mean, it takes something like 600,000 research XP to hit level 15. You have 3 slots and can research 7000 a day x3. A 50% bonus over 3 days is like an extra day and a half. Whee.

    Actually you have 5 slots after one school hit, I think, 15. (6 if you invest fleet credits or something crazy happens as on some of my toons). Still only 1.5 days though.

    And after you've been there, go for all 8 schools to level 20 (2,070,000 XP...) will only take about 16 months.

    But I guess most don't want the event for that 50% bonus, there's other stuff in there, too. More mats and additional dil from nodes. R&D packs give out more. Most importantly for most probably: queues give out more.

    Meh. Upgrade weekends are 100 times as useful as getting a little extra R&D XP. Especially once you're capped at 20 :)

    Yeah, the only R&D weekend related event that interests me is 2x tech points.

    The R&D weekend rolls around just like the Marks weekend and the Dilithium weekend and the Exp Boost weekend.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D
