is there some reason why they wouldn't do one of the three big events they do every year? I mean they haven't said anything about it nor are they going to tell the week before, if not the week of. so don't be alarmed cause we haven't heard anything thats normal.

Isn't it in the Summer? It's only May, which is the middle of Spring.

It's usually at the beginning/midst of June till August-ish ... so June 8th (after Mirror Event) could be a possibility ...

PS : Considering the Event Ship was already leaked by a Dev, it's probably save to say it'll happen sooner or later this year ...

There will be a Risa event. We already got a month-old leak of what will be the prize ship in the account reclaim tab already:

Yes, the SE usually starts first week or so of June and goes through Aug. It's my favorite Event of all the events and my captains all take a vacation the whole time and relax on Risa and play around and farm favors for themselves and their bestest friend.
Now a LTS and loving it.

Um, she's Risian, not Romulan. But she is cute, I admit.

Actually, she is Romulan. With pink hair. And I think she's voiced by dev Maria Rousseau. Who also has pink hair. :)

A carrier? Eh... Obviously I'm not going to pass up a free ship and admiralty card but I was hoping for the cruiser. Or a tier 6 Corvette. Oh well.

Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I think it will begin right on June 8 - that's their schedule for the past 2 years.

I'm curious if they will cut Pavel or cut the master relaxer requirement.

Sort of off topic but related. It sure would be nice if the in game calendar would show things for the next month. You switch over to June and it's all blank. What is the point of being able to see the next month when they never add anything to it? Sure the mirror event shows, Now, But didn't till the patch this morning. Summer event isn't mentioned nor any weekend events for June. You know it's fine if they want to keep us in the dark for fear of spoilers, if that's so, then just show the current month in calendar. Stop taunting us with a blank calendar.

Yep. Anyone else notice that from 2015 onwards, they made her look a little more.......cuddly is the word I shall use. And it's not a bad thing either. :)

Why should they, these are not standing in the way of anything else. Shame about the day/night circle though, hopefully we get some easy indication as of the time of the day.

Pavyl's Hide and Seek game still works fine, so there's no reason to cut it. The only part of Master Relaxer that I wasn't able to get last month was Denied Mok'bara, since the Klingon on the arch doesn't seem to spawn. I doubt that it's related to not having a visible day/night cycle in the sky, since that doesn't stop any of the other time of day-sensitive accolades from happening.

Being able to tell whether it is day or night is a bit tricky now. You can easily tell if the main resort is visible, since the lights in the windows still come on. Torches and braziers that aren't part of the main structures will have fire in them only at night. There are also the dome lights on the ceilings of the various "hut" structures, such as the one where the Floater rental NPC stands, which only come on at night.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

I seriously hope they're going to fix those before the event. Having various objects and buildings continue to behave as if there was a day-night cycle even though there isn't would be a complete farce.

    Well, playability versus immersion...

Relying on errors cause by obsolete visual elements for playability would be even more of a complete farce.

If the time-sensitive elements are kept, there should be a legitimate method of keeping track of the time, such as putting it in the event schedule UI.

That would be the best, agreed. But if I have to decide between graphic nonsense which allows me to play normally and graphic sensibility which makes gameplay try and error...

Yes, well, it's not you doing the choosing, it's the devs. Leaving in graphic nonsense and other references to a nonexistant day-night cycle would make the game look unprofessional. Whereas trial and error could simply be called a challenge.

Especially for new players like on console who have never been to the event before.

I'd personally vote for leaving it as it is over no indicators at all. It doesn't help all that much, but it does help, and there have always been some braziers that were lit all day, like the one on the arch over the dance instructor. so having some lit during part of now-eternal day isn't really any more immersion breaking. Lights in the windows of the main resort building is a bit tacky, but also the most-visible indicator now, so I'd definitely vote to keep that over nothing,

The biggest problem with just these crude indicators is with the fireworks. They actually happen just before the lights come on, so you'll have to get lucky or learn to time out the invisible cycle now.

I still prefer it this way, though, if they had to make it static to work with the new shaders. Eternal daylight at least means that I don't have to deal with dim night and low contrast between dark objects and their backgrounds while doing the hogra'hn hunt ever again.
