Vorgon ships from a Voyager episode?

I may be late to the party on this subject, If I am I apologize.

Are the Vorgon Xyfius ship design the same as the ones from that Voyager episode with the aliens water planet?

They do look A LOT alike. IMO.

    They have a similar top down shape and sleekness but the details are quite off. That really stands out when you see the front view (they look like very different ships then). I'd say it's probably just convergent evolution. Thin neck, flaring head, flowing into rear flanges easily hints at waves in the design language, which fits both factions.

    While Star Trek likes to reuse ship designs for the alien of the week, this is a Cryptic creation. It might be inspired by the ships from the water planet, but it is not the same ship. The ships from the water planets are Monean research vessels.

    Cryptic's Vorgon ships are original creations since Vorgons didn't get a ship in canon. The good thing is that you can repurpose them in the game, the playable ones at leady - I headcanon them to be modern Deferi ships, created in a joined venture between Deferi, Lukari and Xindi (aquatic design, there it is) for my own headcanon purpose.

    They seem too slick of a ship for the Vorgons, but that might be due to the extremely limited exposure that Vorgons have in Star Trek. We only encounter that couple of Vorgon thieves that was introduced in TNG.

    I agree, the costume design and those ships don't add up to me either, as do the bridge designs. It also doesn't fit the descriptions we got of the Vorgons, being a very aggressive people that'd only use the Tox Uhtat to destroy themselves. So, my Deferi angle looks better in my opinion pig-2.gif​​

    Well that's the problem with those one episode wonders that we don't get that much about them, that said we see more then 1 type of Vorgon ship in STO (only escort is playble but there's others as NPC only ships) and they all follow the same asthetic. Though I agree if asked what race that ship belonged to and I didn't know vorgons wouldn't be my first choice.

    they have million of years and they may have over dozen of ship designs for tacts. sci, eng and flagship, and some war vessels.

    Huh. I'd like to see those in game. The front view makes me wonder if we're looking at dual ring-shaped warp nacelles buried in those underslung pass-through channels...

    Maybe the Vorgons just stole the ship design. They could be just a bunch of thieves that steals technology instead of developing their own. After all, not every spacefaring culture used hard work and intellect to get to space.
