Is it true console has no ground missions?

mercurythefirstmercurythefirst Member Posts: 104 Arc User
I don't know if I misunderstood or what but someone on a voice server mentioned something about the console versions having no ground? Or something to that effect.

If that's true, I want that version on PC. Ground always held back this game, it's most likely why it had trouble in the early days as if they took a good game and a bad game and fused them together, making you slog through equal amounts torture per every measure of fun.

Not that I dislike traditional MMO combat, it's just not very good in STO, it's very awkward and unpolished, and the environments feel uninspiring and walled off.

Edit: The best area design I've seen in STO is Bajor, and it's not even necessary to go there, and it has no combat.

That's very false, STO-consoles has ground content and there is absolutely no way that it'll ever be removed from either version of the game.

That's one HECK of a FAKE and I have no idea how someone would even consider this possible, especially since one of the latest news on the console section is about the Arena of Sompek which is 100% ground.

    STO console has ground missions.

There are two missions that involves combat on Bajor. The 1st is the story mission Jabberwocky which takes place in the Mirror Universe. The 2nd is the reputation queue mission called Undine Infiltration. Not much, but they are there.

There are more than 2 on Bajor, and a lot more ground content scattered throughout the game.
In fact, apart from being a few weeks behind in terms of content, the Consele versions of the game are identical to that on PC, except for the user interface.
And "Hearts and Minds" isn't on consoles, it seems...

The only other mission that involves ground combat on Bajor that I can think of is Of Bajor and that is only if you are playing the KDF faction (and KDF aligned Romulan) since there is a mini mission to plant listening devices to spy on the Fed.

I actually prefer ground content to space content.

The problem I have with ground combat is that there are so many bugs where you get stuck in walls, a door that is supposed to open is stuck closed, or if you go through a section too quickly it doesn't progress through and asks you to complete a task that you already completed and you are forced to abort and retry.

Specific examples would be useful for helping you solve your problem.

Twice when I started agents of yesterday on Xbox, the section where you defeat the klingons in engineering, the door wouldn't open to go to engineering. Once in the episode where you have to go into the embassy and defeat t'vet, I died but respawned outside the door and couldn't go back inside to complete the mission. The episode where you go to a Romulan base and have to rescue civilians along the way, I rushed down the hallway and defeated all the Romulans but it kept saying I had to defeat the Romulans before taking the turbo lift. I had to restart and slowly go section by section so it'd register that I defeated them. During the mission inside the Borg cube, I'd get stuck where it didn't think I defeated all the Borg and wouldn't advance. Many times during the kaboli missions, I'd be running and gunning and suddenly I'd run into a barrier or hill and get stuck inside and have to abort... Etc. Just seems the ground missions have a lot of bugs.

There are loads of missions that have a ground part in them, also there is the Nimbus III arc, Borg invasion of Defera (omega rep), New romulus rep, Kobali, Tholian and Voth ground battlezones.
