The Aelahl warbird

Just looking for some info on this particular ship, specifically, how big it is. It is described as being smaller than the D'deridex, but that ship is 1300m in length. So if anyone can provide an image of some sort of this ship next to another, to demonstrate it's size, it would be appreciated.

The best way I could describe the Aelahl warbird is it's like flying a D'deridex but it's MUCH more agile in combat. It's a really nice cruiser type warbird that is speedy and able to turn nice. It seemed rather average in size compared to other ships when I flew it a while back. Smaller then it's parent the D'd but not tiny either.

Here's some references to look at:

She's not too bad a ship. I don't know the size, but honestly I was able to make mine dance. After ramping up her turn rate that is. Was too used to my Fleet Mogai when I switched over.

How much larger than the Mogai does it look?

Honestly at first glace they seem about the same size to me. The Aelahl might have a bit more mass though. I haven't actually put one right next to a Mogai though.

I think he means the actual size of the CGI model. IIRC it's about the size of a Sovereign or Galaxy. As for comparison with Mogai... it's wings aren't as long, and it's more bulky.

Yes, I was referring to it's physical size. Ok, so it's big, but not giant sized. Good to know.

Is it's singularity projector console as useless as the one the the D'deridex refit?

The console is actually pretty good it causes a singluarity at the targets location think of it like being able to create a sing core breach at the target location.

The aelhal overall is a good ship a little squishy for my tastes but its still a solid ship to fly.

Yeah, the D'D is a heavy cruiser, Aelahl is a light battle cruiser.

It's a good ship for an ENG. Heck, it's good ship for a SCI or TAC. I have both versions and I prefer them when I am flying cruisers. I like as well it bucked the (then beginning) trend that each new T6 ship had to be bigger than the last one. I named one of mine R.R.W. Mimbari. When I am using it I sometimes start to look around for other Babylon 5 ships and wonder where they all went off to.

It's a fun ship. Very maneuverable for a cruiser and a decent boff layout. I use it often. It's quite a bit smaller then the double d...as you can see from the pictures posted above.

The Dyson Destroyer also has a very white-star look... I really hope they get a Tier 6 variant at some point.

I really like the DSD. I hope it gets a T6 version too.

That's a pretty Romulan ship. I might have to get one, after I finish scrounging up for a Temporal pack. Yes, I'm lazy and a procrastinator. Is why I don't have one yet.

BTW, the Kara is also a heavy cruiser, and actually larger than a D'Deridex.

If you want a smaller, more maneuverable ship, the Kara is not for you, unless you already own the Haakona and use the Dual Vector Separation console. Separated and commanding the assault section, you can dance, and also be fairly Tac heavy if you desire.

If you don't already have the Haakona though, I'd go for the Aelahl.

Kara also has a hanger. I do have the Haakona, so I would have the set bonus there. Probably have to go dual beam banks. Unless it would be maneuverable enough with both consoles, while separated.

If you already have the Haakona, I think the Kara is a great option. I have more ships than I know what to do with at this point, but when I used the Kara, I used the Dual-Vector and the Supplemental subsystems consoles for the two piece. I used beam arrays, just because they made the separated assault section seem even faster. But I imagine dual beam banks would work just fine. Or if you want to use heavy cannons, you could probably pull that off-separated of course-if you used an extra turn console or something. The Kara also has that plasma lance built in, so it doesn't take a console slot, and when separated, it fires a cone like a shotgun. Sometimes it can make several enemies go BOOM at once. That's pretty fun to see.

It's worth pointing out that the big drawback to this setup is you are committed to using both consoles or at least the dual-vector, just to get maneuverable. You wouldn't have that problem and would have broader build options with the Aelahl, just without the built-in gimmicks.
