Bug - Some object models no longer working properly

phenomenaut01phenomenaut01 Member Posts: 714 Arc User
This should probably go under the graphics bug forum, but I figure Foundry authors probably see these more than others, so I'd like to try and put together a list to post up in there.

Since the lighting update, several object models have texture problems, either with textures not rendering right, or missing textures all together, and other weird issues. As noted in this thread arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1226263/generator-civilian-assets-no-longer-displaying-properly the civilian generator is missing a large part - particularly the portion that would project light - resulting in a hole in the model. Other models that I've come across with issues include a TOS table console and civilian pipes. Those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

Anyone else experiencing these issues, or is it just me?

Yes, I am seeing this also. I thought it was just me, but it seems there's a general problem with it. I noticed it in the Lackey III Post Interior (which makes extensive use of civilian consoles) and then found a number of civilian console models that seem to be missing the same texture.

It's a thing, thanks for posting it to the Foundry forums. Civilian generators losing their big yellow grating piece came about with the lighting update. Once we got Foundry missions back, we noticed the bit was gone (physically too, you can jump through it now.)

This is similar to something I noticed at the Romulan embassy.

Look at the power generator on the left. Note that the metal grating and the yellow piece behind it are missing now. I believe this bug was introduced with the release of "Agents of Yesterday: Artifacts".

You will also notice that the textures on the power cables have changed; I'm not sure if that's a bug or not.

I should add that this bug isn't only visual. You can jump inside the area previously covered by the grating. And if you look from the inside out, you can see through the walls; the textures are only one-way.

The power cables on that model are the same texture that is used for the "Civilian Pipes" models (they are the ones that are silver and shiny, not the scuffed and beat up variation), and those likewise have this new texture mistake on them (I say mistake because they don't really "wrap" correctly".

The coliseum lights models are also missing the "light" part, which seems to make this something that went wrong with some of the models when they were updating parts of them for lighting 2.0.

I meant to go through and make a list of items that were messed up, but I haven't been in game much lately to do so.
