Bring Back Dilithium Store for Exotic Weapons.

The old Dilithium store in the shipyards and whatnot were always cool with the Mark XI weapons and stuff you could get for a pretty decent amount of Dilithium. When Delta Rising came around all of that was tossed away but the NPC's still remain in places like DS9,esd and Qonos. It would be a neat idea to get the 23rd century weapons in their at mk XII with decent modifiers that you can't get anywhere else. Bring it back. Not just the 23rd century weapons. Many different kinds of exotic weapons, shields, ground weapons, kit modules. kit frames. All of that. in a new and improved much more insanely awesome Dlithium store. like the one we used to have.

So you must be returning to the game as nothing made much sense. Crafting and Rep along with the upgrade system ahs rendered everything you miss out dated and frankly useless. Just a few days ago the Kits and Frames R&D system was added. Better gear drops form doing the rep tasks then ever was available in the past. So you want to actaully step backwards instead of looking into what you can actually do now with your own toons crafting system or fleet gear, Embassy gear and more.

Join a fleet, spend some of that dil to earn fleet credit, buy very nice fleet weapons.

    Or rep weapons.

Or open lock box weapons on a low-level character at mark II and then use the upgrade system. Odds are good they will end up as UR or Epic by mark XIV. You can also buy mark II weapons with less-than-perfect mods for reasonable cost in the exchange, like 1 million for a beam array which is 1/5 the cost of opening a single lock box.

I believe that the very unique Romulan Weapons that you can get from the Dilithium Vendors are not craftable as such. If you recall, instead of just piling on, there were a number of Threads about them at the time. After the Dilithium Weapons were removed when Crafting 2.0 came out, there was actually a week or two reprieve on obtaining them as Cryptic messed up and didn't remove them (only).

I do believe that the Plasma Repeater Pistol you can get as a reward from 'Uneasy Allies' was one of them.

Interesting. Was there anything else unique besides that, that isn't obsolete now because of fleet, rep, lock box, lobi, crafted gear and white gear upgrades?

They were some of the go-to Weapons that did quite a bit of damage at the time. Some had their entire Away Team outfitted with one of the Rifles.

With power creep in the game, of course the newer stuff may have a higher DPS. Sometimes that is not all there is.

I thought there were also wide-angle miniguns like the lobi Jem'hadar one.

All of those types of weapons are still available to everyone in common rarity, odd-numbered mark levels I-IX in Dyson Joint Command. A little bit of a bear to upgrade all the way, since they're commons, but you can get them if you want them.

Edit: By "those types" I mean the Romulan ground weapons: Plasma Repeater Pistols, Plasma Split-Beam Pistols, Plasma Piercing Beam Rifles, etc. Romulans, of course, can also get them at the Flotilla and New Romulus Command.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

If you wait for an upgrade weekend that's a decent option -- a Mark I has 11 chances to upgrade in quality by mark XII.

Yeah, but you can't upgrade common weapons I thought.

Only Common weapons that are equipped on a Ship when you get it can't be upgraded.

Lol I'm not a returning player. I've been on the game at least once a day from August 2010 to now. I know some people know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, but I didn't know that non-standard-issue ship weapons could be upgrade if they're common. Granted, I should have figured that out when I upgaded my TOS pack phaser ground weapons to mk XII...

I remember that vendor from ages ago, and I always thought,

"One day I'll be rich and be able to buy this stuff."

    Alas.

A simple right click on such item tells you if it's upgradable, and it's only the default weapons on a ship on purchase/unpacking that can't be upgraded
