What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Trying to figure something out.

Last week I got my first step into R and D. I crafter 3 antiproton damage consoles, upgraded them to epic quality, then built 2 antiproton beam weapons and also upgraded them to epic quality.

There was no Dilithium cost involved.

I think it was because I was using superior tech upgrades? They were purple colored. I think that's why there was no Dilithium cost. Can anyone confirm? Now I have to pay Dilithium every time I move up on the weapon I'm upgrading.

The only way you could have done this without spending Dilithium is if you used special upgrade kits that specifically state that they don't use Dilithium. Most of these kits are Epic Quality (Omega) or Ultra Rare like the Romulan Upgrade kits awarded from Rep, Phoenix Upgrade kits, or kits from special events/Feature Episode runs.

All VR Superior Kits use Dilithium during the upgrade process. If you did your upgrades with those kits, then you used Dilithium.
    Insert witty signature line here.

That's probably what happened. For some strange reason I didn't think to look at the tech upgrades to see what they were.

Romulan from Admiralty are purple and use no dil.

There is a double tech points Upgrade Weekend coming soon on PC, so you should wait to upgrade more until then.

Also, the Phoenix Pack tech upgrades (10 for 40,000 dil) are a better deal than superior tech upgrades.

You need to go to Deep Space Nine and talk to the Ferengi: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10407393-the-phoenix-prize-pack-returns!

This is on PC, if you are a console player then never mind.
