Both my bank & account storages has been overwhelmingly full and no room for other things. I want to keep my stuff as they're very good things that I've collected and is very useful, for my characters and ships.
I would like to stack in the bank. Same type of Starship weapons, defenses, consoles etc. Like how consumables can stack up. Same with character armor, weapons kit modules etc. Including same pets etc. Of course you're given a new option to withdraw only one or how many items you want to take out of the bank, by right clicking the item. And of course you wouldn't be able to stack multiple weapon etc in a single Starship or character empty slot. It would only place one of each in per slot (excluding consumables).
Also another new option in the banks called Quick Stack. So then you won't have to manually drag the items into the bank, from your inventory. So that would save time.
It would even benefit those fleet banks. As if a repository was set to only withdraw one item. When there was only more than the same item.
The stacks amount for equipment, weapons etc. Could be up to 99 or whichever is suitable.

In-Universe logic wise, it would make little sense that a stack of 20 provisions would take up the same Bank space as, say, 2 warp cores.
Also, no thanks to "Quick Stack" as I don't want the game dragging whatever it deems appropriate from my inventory to my bank. Seems I'll spend more time fixing what such a feature would do than I'd save.
Ok didn't know that.
Well of course ones that are in the progress of being upgraded can't stack. But ones that are fully upgraded to the max. Or even haven't been upgraded before that you get through the reputation system, can be stacked.

1 - Buy more bank slots.
2 - Buy more personal inventory slots.
3 - Buy more Account Bank slots.
4 - Learn how not to be a pack rat and get rid of items of less importance.
I am somewhat of a pack rat myself, but I am slow going through my "junk" and either dispose or sell them. For example, nearly all of my captains have several ship and ground weapons that I have been holding on to. They are useful, but am forcing myself to get rid of some of them.
Additionally, I make it a point to purchase bank slots and personal inventory slot for each captain from time to time. If you never subscribed to STO (or do not have a LTS), then I recommend you sub for 1 month. Every time you rank up (at least until you hit level 50) your captains will receive 12 bank slots and 6 personal inventory slots while you are subbing. These slots are retroactively allocated so captains that have ranked will receive the appropriate number of slots. The more captains you have the better the value of subbing for 1 month.
Yes I'm already on a Lifetime Subscription. My main character is maxed level. I have expanded my bank and account slots. if there was an unbind an item from the character. I could then transfer them to my other characters on the same account.

The only thing they need to change, imo, is the fact that we pick up so much useless stuff (things that can also be replicated like commodities such as industrial energy cells or food items) and that we have multiple levels of the same items (like hypo sprays: small, medium, large, Cordrazine etc.). If they changed this, removing such items as loot drops, my worst problems with inventory and bank space would be fixed.
^^ This ^^
I can foresee nothing but issues on anything that can and often do have differing mods/quality/lvl chance, I.E. Weapons of any kind.
I do agree though that anything that CAN stack, needs to be able to stack to a minimum of 1000. I can see no reason why things such as commodities and hypos can only stack to 100 or in some cases 250,...
For weapons and consoles though, it would be absolutely impractical. I can't begin to count the number of times I've started upgrading a set of weapons with the same mods/quality/lvl and by the time I was done, at least one if not more, were different in some way. A different mod, quality, tech points remaining etc,...

I was almost overwhelmed at the space I found when I was gifted with a LTS last year over what I'd had as a FTP + purchasing extra slots. The LTS was worth that extra space alone. Though the other perks were great too. I use the First Contact EV suit anytime I need to use one now, except when playing around on Nukara Prime. Then the ones who have them use the suit/shield/weapon set they got from the rep.
Yes I know but most of my ships are full up. And the rest of my ships are in Drydocks. It's a pity that the Drydocks didn't even store the equipment within them. So when I take a Starship out of the Drydock. The equipment is still there.
@Others
Well I beg to differ. The developers have been known to make changes to the game. Such as the skill system, graphics etc which are full on changes that players may have thought was impossible to do.
I remember reading various speculation feedback here on the forum and social media posts. About the new skill system last year. That was going to be introduced. There was so many players that said they didn't like the new system. But afterwards after the new skill system was implemented. Their opinions about it changed.
I also remember seeing here on the forum. Others requesting the graphics to be improved. And the responses by other users on their posts were saying that, "the system wouldn't be able to handle that kinda change." And look what happened mid last year. They introduced a new graphics system in preparation per the console version release.
So it will be possible for the developers to improve the bank system. Since that isn't really a full on difficult job. Like they had done for the new skill system and etc. There's no need for criticism! If you don't like this bank improvement idea. Fine! But I'm sure others would want an improvement for the bank system. Yes I could buy more slots but find it pointless when there's same matching equipment in per bank slot.

I'm sorry, but there is no way you need all that stuff. But there are a few ways you can clear things, look for items you can re-claim if you get rid of them. These items include set items rewarded from missions, consoles from C-Store ships you own, etc. If you got the item from a mission, you can always re-play that mission if you find yourself in need of that item. Same for C-Store items, you can always just re-claim the ship to get a new copy of the item.
You can also sort through your items and look for anything that's bound to account or not bound at all. You can then just create a new character just for bank space and send any items over to that character for storage.
Honestly though, the best way is probably to take all the useless stuff you have and sell it to a vendor. That of course, is your call, but other then those methods, buying storage space seems your only other option.
^^ All of this!
Plus I have 15 Ship slots already fitted with the finest strongest equipment. I'm surprised nobody had even mentioned about unbinding an item from the character or account. Other games have an unbinding option. As I've mentioned in main post! Shame this game doesn't have an unbinding option.
Ok I'll put it a different way. How does it sound to just stack up stock or default equipment that hasn't been upgraded?

- I see two Winter Tribbles, plus one in your personal inventory.
- You do not need 4 environmental suit especially, if you have a Solonae EV suit in your personal inventory.
- You got two probes, they are pretty much useless unless you find them useful in PvP matches. That means you can get rid of at least one of them. They are pretty inexpensive on the Exchange.
- You seem to have a small craft shield. Get rid of it small crafts and use "starship" shields.
- Get rid of the Winter Event recipes, you can always get more 10 months from now. The Kava Juice Gumdrops do not offer any spectacular boosts.
- There are 6 very inexpensive kit modules that can be cheaply purchased from the Exchange. I doubt a max level captain has any real use for common / uncommon Mk IX to Mk XII kits.
- Of the commodities I would get rid of most of them, but I would keep the ones that are always used in the Doff missions I run.
- Get rid of the insect repellent, you can always another on New Romulus.
- Get rid of the fire extinguisher, as far as I am aware it is only useful in Undine Infiltration and Stranded In Space. Both missions allows you to get another one.
- Get rid of the flash light. I think it is only useful in What Lies Beneath.
- Because of the existence of the Infinity Lock Box, I would get rid of all lock boxes that have prizes that are already contained in the Infinity Lock Box. Stock up on Infinity Lock Boxes the next time they come out.
- The two small craft torpedoes (quantum and photon) are basically useless. No need to keep them. Small crafts can be fitted with "starship" torpedoes.
I can see from the screen shot that the OP and I have a very different idea of 'very good' items.
I agree with you, I look at that screen shot and see row after row of junk. Most of that stuff is just sitting in your bank doing nothing.. get rid of it. No matter how many slots they sell you if you save every single thing you will always run out.
Call the tab "cargo hold" and be done with it.
Yeah I need those commodities for my fleet contribution. I agree commodities should have their own tab. Like the R&D inventory tab has got.
@jaguarskx @seaofsorrows
Yes I could sell those other things. Even though the equipment particularly the starship weapons. Has over 300dps on them. But I did get them through the reputation system and store. i suppose they could be sold. Since I can easily buy them again with dilithium.
The other things I could transfer into my other characters. Like the winter tribbles etc.

Fleet contributions don't run on commodities anymore though.
Also, while I am quite a collector myself (all these good weapons (good mods) from rep boxes), I would consider turning in the extra winter epohhs for marks. It's nice to have any variation available as a pet, but the second Peppoh-Mint doesn't do anything.
I know I was saving them so I can trade them in for other rep marks that I haven't finished or finding it difficult completing.
So the commodities are now only usable for Duty Officer assignments?
