When deleting all my bridge crew in the hopes of emptying the seats npcs are summoned into those two chairs with the galexy bridge. I am sorry but they need to be empty of npcs. I think a lot of players would agree and that they need to be empty give us the abilty to have the npcs or not. Filling all the chairs.

That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
You did play the game before having any of your own Boffs, right? Those NPCs you're pointing at are the starter BOFFs.
For noobs...
I forgot what I read in his title since he completely left it out of his post.
He's a Roleplayer.
In other words - he's NOT interested in the game. It's all just props for his spotlight...
Especially the first one; bridges should be a showcase for your boffs; and I still have random no-names hanging around on some stations regardless of having enough boffs of that profession that fills the spot.
Nuts.
I would also like to get random crew assigned uniforms (kinda like three tailor slots for Tac, Sci, Eng or similar) so that your boffs don't stand out as much if you prefer not to.
I *insist* however that this is not the most pressing issue of the day.
He said he deleted his boffs in order to try to empty the chairs in his ship: "deleting all my bridge crew in the hopes of emptying the seats".
He's wants an empty area to Roleplay in from what he's saying. Or something to that effect from his title and post.
Didn't there used to be a rp server somewhere for that junk? can't remember.
They should be map loaded before you arrive.
At any rate, I use my small craft all the time for the account bank. Bridge, not so much. That said I plan to buy the Miranda pack for my AoY to use on her Excelsior and Heavy Cruiser. Always liked that bridge, just no justification to buy it. I have bought a fair number of bridge packs, even though I seldom use them.
Solution? Again, as I have suggested before, an RP tag/command that would allow RPers to enter an RP instance of an existing social zone. Quarks for instance. However, this should not exclude tools already in place that I think a lot of RPers are forgetting. The Foundry can be used to recreate just about any setting in Star Trek. If the devs could work with the RP community, they might be able to find a means to integrate the Foundry better into their events, to include ship bridges sans filled bridge officer seats.
They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs, they do their part.
I am all for roleplaying for those people who like it. Also in MMOs it's fine with me even if they don't have the words "roleplaying" in them. Also, enjoy your LARPs, as long as you do not flail your swords at the unsuspecting public (had that happen once).
But what is understood as an RPG on a PC is to many parts different from what is meant by "roleplaying" here. And the former uses some stuff, which, if detrimental to the latter, cannot always be taken out.
Now if the OP would just have asked whether it would be possible to have an empty bridge setting that'd be fine. But somebody who starts with "I insist" - well, apart from politeness phrases ("You go first" - "No, I insist that you go first") this is just something some five year olds use, stamping their feet on the ground. Throw in some "they need" without a qualifier "for me" or similar, making it an absolute truth for everybody, and I can see why reactions to this particular request are getting harsh. Agreed, it's not an excuse for over the top answers, but kind of an explanation.
They don't have a choice but to fix it.. I don't know if you saw the thread title.. but he INSISTS that it's fixed.
My guess is that they called the entire staff in on Sunday to get working on this and there will be an emergency maintenance patch first thing in the morning.

Thank you for saying this. My sentiments exactly.
Sometimes it hurts my brain to see just how much the forum has devolved. Once upon a time it used to be at least somewhat useful as a place for sharing ideas and having discussions about anything. Granted, there were many heated debates as well, but that what the CMs and Mods were for. Nowadays it seems one can barely make a post without being ridiculed, no matter the form of expression or the general relevance of the topic.
There should always be someone at the helm in case of the unexpected; there should always be a comms officer on duty because Command isn't going to send a text to your cell phone deep in the Delta Quadrant; basically, all the ship's departments should be represented at all times. If it's not your department head in the seat, it has to be someone.
(Reminds me of a moment I had forgotten about from TOS. In the episode "Balance of Terror", at one point Kirk has to send the navigator, Stiles, down to Phaser Control to assist there. He has Uhura take over the navigator's seat, as Nav is also in control of firing weapons in this episode. Lovely moment there, as she just casually shuts down the comms board and slides into the Nav seat like it's not even a thing.)
If one does happen upon players doing public ERP, then pop an amplifier and do the running man (preferably in an EVsuit while listening to Men Without Hat's Safety Dance). :P
And do what, exactly? There's nothing in-game that can be done from the bridge 99% of the time but...stand or sit on the bridge. No combat, no repairs, no sensor scans--not even a freakin' cup o' tea from the yeoman while you sign the latest whatever-the-heck it was Kirk was signing for all those episodes. You wouldn't need an STO sub to just sit around and RP something else--there are online environments where you could set up a starship bridge and just RP that way. Trying to do it in STO is crackin' walnuts with a bulldozer, IMHO.
