Music in STO - composed for it or shopped/free source picked or a mix of both?

I'm curious. I was under the impression that STO has its own composer but recently hear that awesome serene New Romulus theme in an entirely different game & context which afaik predates the NR xpack by a year.

    The game could use some new music IMO, been listening to the same tunes for what...six years now?

    I'm pretty sure with agents came something new. At least I cannot remember having those typical 60ys scifi riffs before that I hear now.

    With my original question I was (still am) just a bit curious why all of the sudden I hear the STO New Romulus theme in a hard core TRIBBLE game :p
