    You keep playing.

After reaching level 55, it takes considerably more XP to advance to the next level. I don't know the specific amount of XP you need to advance from level 59 to level 60, but according to the following link...

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Experience_Point

    - To get from level 1 to level 50 you need to accumulate 366,000 XP.
    - To advance from level 50 to level 55 you need to have a total of 750,420 XP. Meaning you need to gain 384,420 XP to advance from level 50 to 55.
    - To advance to level 60, you need to have a total of 1,498,620 XP. That means to advance from level 55 to level 60 you need to gain 748,200 XP.

Once you reach level 60, there is no more levels for you to gain. However, there are Specialization Points that you can continue to collect to fill in the Specialization Trees. Every 159,078 XP you gain after reaching level 60, you will gain 1 Specialization Point. By the time you reach level 60 you should have 10 Specialization Points because you get your 1st one when you reach level 51.

Try using duty officers, they helped advance my character more quickly then just patrol missions.

depending how many ships you own, admiralty can seriously ease the difficulty of leveling from 52-60

Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.

In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.

PC: It's easy. Just use story missions and doffing (doffing is REALLY important) to get to level 53. After that, add admiralty and it becomes stupid easy.

Console: It's easy. Just get a PC.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Well... if you are on the console, then good news since there is currently a Double XP Month running until Jan. 10th.

The same way you get to Carnegie Hall: practise. :P

(Sorry, couldn't resist. Indeed, just keep playing. Can't even remember there was somthing special about going from 59 to 60; but, in general, the last XP stretches usually take the longest.)

Once you are lvl 51+ play less things that scale you down to lvl 50 and more that scale you up to 58 or leave you at 59.

    Playing episodes ?

Those usually give one rank per played mission until much later and then you'll be thinking this is taking forever. It wasn't like this before.

Not everyone spends their free time looking through here or Reddit.

Story missions are the best way to level your toons, the first time you play them rewards the most. It gets tedious when you find yourself replaying the same missions over and over when you're levelling a new character, but for the first time it's the way to go.

There's used to be one For the console game but they remove it around the second or third patch, it was located in the player stats page.

I levelled a character just by following the storyline from start, and hit 60 on the second chapter of the iconian war episode. I haven't fully completed the story yet.

If you play all the story arcs, you'll be level 60 before you finish the missions, even if you don't get any Double XP weekends in there.

In short, to get to level 60, just play the game.

Do all the storyline missions and toss in some admiralty for good measure and you'll get there pretty fast.

Well what i mean is you get to 60 the same way you get up to 59, accrue experience points.

But i see that this is for console so that could be a different ball of wax.

    Admiralty Missions.

If you had a Temporal Recruit, the Ultimate Doff prize will get you a 5% Bonus on all XP, and you can slot the guy on your Ground Doffs. It will also get you 20% Bonus on Specialization Points if the Recruit completes three whole Spec Trees. Though I assume you are not there as you haven't gotten your Character to 59/60 yet.

Another good way is to run those Temporal/Mirror Research Missions that come from Lockboxes. They award a ton of XP and a really, really load of XP on a Crit.
