Missions in bad need of a graphics fix.

Please list the missions you find to be graphically problematic. For me the only really bad one is Researcher Rescue. Too many items just plan do not render while playing it, which makes taking a new toon through it interesting at times.

Echoes of BLINDINGLY BRIGHT Light in the Outer Solar System as documented in the link provided. Ironically, the lighting is fine during the FMV cutscenes on that map, but as soon as the cutscenes for directing me where I need to go next are done I'm confronted with AAUGH! MY EYES!! I'M BLIND!!!! ... and then the problem is somehow "solved" by the time I get to the Middle Solar System section with the comets.

Irony of ironies ... the Fleet Embassies, both Federation and Klingon, are severely in need of a lighting tuneup pass. The Administrative Office in both Embassies is just FREAKING DARK, with next to no lights influencing the room interior. The "dining hall" for embassy meetings is an UNLIT BLACK CAVE for the Klingons, with no illumination sources anywhere. The main lobby and OPS is dark for the Federation, but reasonably well lit for the Klingons. The shuttle bay has something weird going on with the shadows cast on the floor, because apparently the sunlight can shine through the roof in a spot where there is hard opaque cover for some reason.

The Orrery in both Dyson Joint Command and in the Fleet Spire now shows a globe "map" feature that looks like a "dog ate my homework" 3D object. I don't remember it looking THIS bad before the lighting update.

I was replaying "House Pegh" in the Iconian War and it's unplayable. The minimap is disabled (which is normal for this mission) but none of the consoles "sparkle", making it impossible to proceed (I've played it before, so I knew which consoles needed to be interacted with). The "sensor scan" does not point to anything, making finding the next objective a trial and error affair.

"Time in a Bottle" is also terrible. When you are shifted "out of time", the screen becomes so dark that you can't see anything. NPCs/objectives don't "sparkle", so you literally stumble around in the dark. This mission does have a minimap, so you can bumble around until you get an interact pop-up.

The briefing room in "reasearch lab" map in all the Iconian War episodes is waaay too dark. Again, NPCs just hang out in darkness and you have to bumble around until the interact pop-up shows.

"Blood of the Empire" had some bad glitches in the KDF headquarters a while back, but they might have been fixed since then.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I was having that same issue on New Romulus and a few other planets. I got it to run smoother by changing the space-screen ambient occlusion setting in the graphics tab. Turning it off changed the shading some but not much and it seems to have helped out a lot.

A boat load of the STF's need a fix such as Days of Doom no color translucent ships a real mess.
  • Nukara exterior zone - large sections of the ground are all trippy and rainbow colored (and I don't mean the acid pools, I mean the actual ground).

Bug Hunt has way to much contrast between dark and light zone. After van derp blows up the rock wall the dust is very blinding

Fleet Alert is another. Everything has an annoying white/blue glow.

    Hell yeah to this..

DS9 in missions and in the open world needs a graphic and model re-do, or at least fix the AI animations. For example, the waitress on second floor of Quarks randomly caughs and checks her watch. Someone near the ship facilities randomly walks, stretches, and coughs. One of the windows in the promenade (the door to Odo's security office) sometimes shows a space background. Also it would be nice if they combine Quark's and the main DS9 map and open it up more so it is more like in the show

Maybe someone should @ some Cryptic members? Try to get this pinned?
