I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

DPS parsers don't actually do anything inside the game, they parse external log files. So even if Cryptic *did* enforce the no external apps policy (which they don't unless it's actually doing something that messes with the economy), they wouldn't count.

They don't even care if you run macros, and even went so far as to mention lack of macros were one of the things they needed to take into account when making the console ports.

DPS Parsers are a common thing. How else do people report they get X DPS? Like jaturnley said, it doesn't actually connect to the game itself, it accesses a log file and translates the data in the file into a format that a player can understand, such as this weapon did that much damage.

If you've ever been in an Infected run you've probably been parsed a few times. People use it to measure how effective their builds are.

I'd really like to know how a parser amounts to cheating. Sketch me a diagram if you must.

here's a tip, if you don't know the answer or aren't replying to a question with a specific answer, maybe don't post anything.

Parsers that obtain their information about the combat instance solely from the combatlog.log file optionally generated by your gameclient are not a TOS violation. To the best of my knowledge, this includes STO Combat Meter (displayed in the screenshot), Combat Log Reader, the plugin for Advanced Combat Tracker that I have seen, and others. There are things that a combat parser could do that would break the TOS, but the ones widely used by the community do not do those things to the best of my knowledge. Additionally, information provided by combat parsers can be used to harass other players, which would be a TOS violation, but that is the fault of the player, not the parser.

I use combat parsers in STO for work and fun, and work with other people who do.

With that completely settled; let's move back to the original topic: Borg High-Yield Plasma Torpedoes, and the Original Poster's difficulty hitting them.

Any High-Yield Torpedo is going to be hard to hit, and the Borg Plasma Torpedoes are no exception. They have a massive defense value, and it is expected that most of your shots will miss them.

It additionally makes sense that you missed a shot versus a Nanite Sphere, as those are one of the few things in that queue that tend to move and thus have defense values greater than 0.

Not seeing any hits for 192k damage as you're just showing your damage. Those are the lolpedos in question. Most borg torps work perfectly normal. BTW the lolpedos have been posted previously and maybe even by me with a dps parser showing that value. And of course showing the explosion/death of said toon and or now and then someone actually surviving that high of a hit. I'm not seeing that here. And I see 8 attacks in which 2 were hits leaving you at 25% hit rate vs those torps. Which is probably what it should be as per Spartan and 25% being the minimum hit rate if memory serves. Overall hit % doesn't really matter.

I think the OP was saying something about invisible Heavy Plasma, and the fact that he apparently took a shot at it.

Well... admittedly we have seen unrendered Heavy Plasma in the past. While I haven't seen the dreaded Invisitorp lately, they apparently still strike every once in a while. You know... the one that suddenly oneshots a full health/full shield ship with no warning.

At least we haven't had any instances of patches breaking the STF Borg in a couple years. Not sense the Emergency Power to Engines Zippy Rocket Spheres.
