Fluid Dynamics

So, I was playing the episode Fluid Dynamics in which I fight the Borg in fluidic space.... So, it wasn't easy to fight all those cubes and spheres there, but I destroyed them all except the one last cube... And this cube is not floating freely around, but is incorporated in something bigger.... Anyway, the problem is, that I was not able to shoot at it, and neither were other ships. No matter how close I came to it and from which angle, there was absolutely no possibility to fire at it. So, I thought it's some bug probably, and I aborted the mission, hoping it will let me continue from the same moment.... But it appears that I have to fight ALL the Borg ships all over again!!!! Now, I don't want to throw away my precious time to fight the Borg if the same thing is going to happen again, so my question is: is it just a bug which will probably not appear again when I defeat those other Borg ships, or there is some other trick there which I should know about?

I'll look into this one for you, as it seems to be a bug. But I'll report back with any findings I come across.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

Thanks, but I just tried it once again and it really was a bug that didn't repeat itself.... Another thing is that I have no idea how to defeat Borg Command Diamond :open_mouth:

It's an old issue, when there is a lot of objects in an area NPC ships can get caught on them, if they get their center far enough inside the object then we can't target them, but they can still target us, haven't been in Ker'rat for ages but this used to happen in there all the time.

I've gone through it twice so far and I've not been able to recreate it. So I'd hazard a guess that the offending was knocked down into the structure as a result of a core breach or possibly a torpedo impact. As for the Diamond, all I can recommend it keep chipping away at it. Stay around 5km away from it to avoid the Aceton emissions as they'll strip shields and hull like no bodies business. Also keep an eye open for Feed back pulse if it uses it (I know the Diamonds do in Hive) But I kill it fast enough in the episode that it doesn't get chance to use a lot of abilities.

So you must have quite a strong ship in compare with mine. Because it takes me a lot of time to make some concrete damage to it, and when his hull got under 50%, it warped itself to it's initial position, and it had 100% again :open_mouth:

First time poster here, but lifetime account sub since STO was launched...

I came back to STO this weekend after a break from two years, and even with a T6 Temporal Raider this mission "Fluid Dynamics" was driving me bonkers. I finally got through it just now, basically what I did was:

    1) avoid using Full Impulse to keep the fleet with me all the way to the Unicomplex.
    2) Cloaked and allowed the fleet to take down all of the cubes and spheres for me.
    3) Stayed within range, but cloaked, of the Diamond and allowed the fleet to just whittle its health down, it escaped the Unicomplex the first time and the fleet didn't pursue but then it reappeared in the center of the complex and tried to escape again but fortunately it got hung up and couldn't move, and the fleet finished it off. I remained cloaked because from prior experience I found that it was able to destroy me rapidly and even if I would uncloak briefly to use the tractor it could destroy me within a few short seconds. That, and my MK XI and XII weapons weren't harming it.

I'm glad that mission is over and I never have to deal with it again, at least not on this Tactical officer. :/

I did it with my TOS captain a couple of months ago in a non-cloaking T6. I forget which ship it was since I was collecting mastery traits but it did not have a cloak and the diamond did not 2-shot me.

I did have a full set of hull and shield heals - science team, eng team, hazard emitters, polarize hull, ( rotate shield freq, Miracle Worker ) - Eng captain.
