I'm second-in-command of a PC fleets PS4 division, and our boss man's system is down, so I have the unenviable task of keeping near 300 consoles players occupied and engaged. I stress 'console' because for better or worse add a group we are not generally known for our patience, especially when it comes to giving misleading info or not telling us anything when you quietly take our money - one member of my fleet opens a minimum of $20 worth of lockboxes PER WEEK.
I've got people upset they broke the tailor & have yet to say anything about it, people upset at the missing functionality they're aware of, upset none of our turbolifts that aren't on a purchased bridge are not working.....people are just upset. Folks grumble of quitting entirely already and I'm honestly hesitant to get on today. I've been telling people all week wanting to quit to be patient, they said new console update on the 15th, there'll be more stuff to do and now I look like a liar. Well played, Cryptic/ARC/whoever. Well played.
Console players don't take too kindly to stuff like this, and are less inclined as a whole to deal with MMO shenanigans when they can go play any other game with their money that makes good on what it says when it says, or at the very least tell us why it can't be done. As console players we STILL don't have any dedicated source for information to go to; what appears to be shunts us to PC info which is useless or completely outdated for us. Why? You want our money here now but can't give us dedicated basic support options?
I apologize for this wall of text; I'm an older gent learning that anything more than 220 characters is considered a book these days, but I had to get this off my chest out of frustration.

Much better than what i've said. Most of my money has been going to Digital Extremes, the Creators of Warframe. They have mastered the abilities of transparency compared to Arc.
Now I'm definitely keeping my wallet away from Arc. They don't deserve my time, and my money.

Half of the people that defend them say "oh, it was just to let you know what was coming and not and actual scheduled update for console." Then we tell them "If you played console then you would know that they have items promising the content to be available on November 15, such as the mirror incursion events admiralty reward, R&D materials you got from previous story quests, etc." And of course they turn to the blind faith option after that.
This is inexcusable for their part. Alot of people quit playing and their only tactic is to keep posting content that IS NOT IN THE GAME.

Greed and petty ignorance will only get them so far. Its a little early, but I can assume that Arc is the like the Ferengy Alliance in the game industry.

Im starting to think about taking some "epic screenshots" of the content that was "supposed" to be delivered today. something along the lines of "Oh (NO) new reputation factions, (NO) r&d, (NO) admiralty! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!! What an update we are so pleeeeeeeeeeeeeased omg omg omg!!!!!"
But knowing me id waste too much time photo shopping it

I'd go for it. If it gets a point across for either giving a BS date of release when its not.
My fleet is actually one of the oldest; our founder made it before the beta even dropped on PC, and he's been a Lifetime Subscriber on PC since the beta. He and I planned on being here for the long term; him being an STO vet and me being the stereotypical "basement dwelling gamer" who works from home. I'm on at minimum 12 hours throughout the day. I like the game, I like Star Trek, I like playing with others. I seriously considered buying an LTS myself at some point until I discovered after an hour of digging -because it's not explicitly stated- that the console LTS doesn't have the monthly deposit of Zen like the PC does. Are you saying console players don't deserve it? What logic supports that considering other MMOs on console like DCUO gives you a monthly deposit for subscribing?
My members need something more; most are T5 with all the reps, have all the dropped gear sets from countless repaying of story missions, and are growing restless. What content is here was burned through quickly by most and getting people to work together coordinated with a console-unfriendly text chat system is like wrangling Tribbles in an out-of-phase garbage bag. At the very least we shouldn't've have gotten this game without the Fleets Holdings or whatever active already; it would've went a long way in keeping player interest high, giving a normally mercenary minded group of players a common goal to work together on. Incentive to keep re-doing the same content. As much gear farming we've done in the Iconian War we'd all be T5 with the Iconian Resistance, even the people who quit already smh.
These are just my opinions mixed with observations of player morale. Federation captains are growing bored and moving on to other games they'll play for a few weeks before that game is replaced, too. That could be a minimum of $120 a month they'd miss out on just from the average gamer, not including those who've spent $220 or more already just on lockboxes, because most don't have to time to devote to farming for credits required for the dry-docking exchange prices, which I don't want to start on now. They can't play as KDF because as I learned today their campaign is bugged & no one wants to try to reach level 30 in a level 10 ship - known issue. They don't want to play as Romulans because we hear it's just as buggy & we've had a few members delete theirs already because of the level 50 bug.
When they announced the Mirror Invasion Event for consoles in October, that article specifically "Admiralty System goes live ON CONSOLES Nov. 15th. Send your personal fleet on missions!" That was enough to keep some people patient; what's 3 more weeks? Almost the 16th, still no A.S., still no word. On Nov. 1st in their R&D article, which seems explicitly to be tied into the DOff system, that it's coming in the 1.12 update but doesn't specify an actual date. On Nov. 3rd they post an article titled "Console Fleet Holdings" which is what nearly everyone is waiting for here in my fleet but can only say 'soon'. On the 9th we get a post for the DOff system, but no mention of day or update. The 11th had them explaining the Admiralty System -which should've been only 4 days away- and it mentions the campaigns it will launch with in update 1.12, same as the R&D system, which is tied to the DOffs. Monday's post was about 2 of the reputations we're getting out of the 4 we're missing, with a copy-paste description of what they are; no update number or release date or real info, even. Then they post about more money holes shaped like boxes, but can offer no explanation or information on why we didn't have an update today. Ok.
Point is they are shooting themselves in the foot operating with us like this. I know a few people with only a PS4, who haven't spent a dime on this yet, feeling like they should've bought a whole VR setup to play Star Trek Bridge Crew instead of this, a free game, because of lack of support. The VR setup alone costs more than the system. We don't even have our own dedicated forums for console to seek help or information from; we have to throw our lot in with the PC, pray what info we do find after hours of digging -because none of it is centrally collected- is valid for us and not PC & hope we don't get lost in the shuffle or we offend you crowding your space with our issues. I should've dropped this post there, but it doesn't exist, sooo....
I'm upset. Frustrated. Mad as hell I have to send a letter to my fleet apologizing for getting their hopes up assuring there was an update due based on the developers announcements that have not come true because I try not to flood their in-boxes or send unverified intel; an informed fleet is a productive one. An informed player base is a productive one, too. We don't care we don't have it yet, same as some of us didn't care we didn't match PC in terms of available content. Our issue now on top of everything else is that we were told to expect something today, the day consoles update generally, and instead it was for PC, despite most of it saying "consoles", considering this is stuff you guys have had for years. And with no explanation, at that.
We will not take scraps. If they want us supporting them from our platforms of choice with our wallets & investment of time, they need to step up and support us -for better or worse- the same way they support you guys. We need CORRECT & VALID information, not this smoke & mirrors of digging and hoping it's right. Don't lie to us or mislead us like this. We should have our own place for our issues so we don't appear as entitled crybabies. If you tell us were getting an update for us on 'X' date, it should be that date & if not, just tell us why. A simple "there was an unforeseen issue with the certification process, updates delayed" goes a long way & fairs much better than being met with disrespectful silence.
My apologies for offloading 2 months of frustrations on you but where else could it have went? I post here again I will keep it short, captain's honor. Peace and long life to you all.
I'm not sure who the community manager is, but I've been looking at the staff members on twitter. And one of them didn't even seem to get that it was stated on the Mirror Universe event that the Admiralty system was stated for the 15th.

Check out @LaughingTrendy on twitter and scroll down to the point where she questions someone despite the fact that they linked the article which shows the date of the Admiralty system.
Even after that, she still doesn't seem to get it.

We are excited that this is not true! Since there is no update out yet, the Lockboxes are still Kelvin Time Line. Stop teasing us with false information and give us some facts! If it will take longer because of a mistake who cares. We just want to know when and why!
I'm PS4, a member of Lone Star Fleet. I play as Commander Naomi ibn La'ahad, captain of the U.S.S. Michigan Armitage Class Heavy Escort Carrier. I'm a level 60 Fleet Admiral, but refused to acknowledge it in game until (if ever) console gets Armada support.
Even if they would have stated: "No it has not been sent to approval, yet. We had Tribbles in our computers! Be patient it can take one more week the R&D event will be moved " Or even "Yes it has been sent to approval to Sony and Microsoft, they can't get their hinders up, we hope it will be there soon!".
Any information would be better than no information. Silence will make us mad. All work and no play...
Almost 24hrs and no reply,no acknowledgment what so ever.
They have no idea the TRIBBLE storm that console players are capable of causing when it comes to bad devs.
I have an account on pc and consoles only have a fraction of the content we were told we were getting, the ships selection in c store is pathetic, where is the rest of it?
Doff's were part of the game so why were they left out?
Task force omega is really the only rep worth doing (borg stuff come on) but we dont even have that.
Cryptic really needs to look into what console gamers expect.
Everything we dont have is fine,i can wait but the 0 communication.........that wont be tolerated on consoles.....you need to talk to us and keep everyone updated on whats happening.
The Mirror Invasion comes to Star Trek Online on console as part of a brand new limited time event starting on Thursday, October 27, 2016, and ending on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. This event map will only be playable during this three week event timeframe.
In addition to earning a choice of marks for playing the Mirror Invasion queued event, players can run a new reputation project to earn a huge reward of Dilithium, Marks, and a unique Admiralty Card which can be used when the Admiralty system goes online on November 15.
I played this game off and on on PC for a bout 2 years - loved it on PC, didn't get caught up too much in the "outside" world of the game - i.e. Cryptic, etc. When I found out it was coming to console, I was excited, and in turn, got a lot of my fellow console playing friends to be excited too. We already had a big guild (two actually) in Neverwinter - so we knew how Cryptic / Perfect World could be, but beyond waiting for fixes, it wasn't too bad. Communication their was so so, but eventually issues were worked out. If a date was given for something, that is when we got it - from my continued communication with the guilds I founded there, that still seems to be the case.
Now, STO - it started before the game was even released... we found out it was coming a day before release on September 6th. An announcement at the 50th Anniversary celebration for Star Trek. No official press release, no pre-release like NW, nothing, just an announcement that thankfully was covered by some gaming media. Then of course the forum and twitter posts by STO once it was live. Since then we have been waiting on content - and fixes, only receiving fixes when the game was completely broken. The only announcements we get that mean anything are the ones that are basically asking fort our money - again, its a F2P game and Cryptic needs money - no denying that at all, but we hardly get any concrete announcement on new content, and we get absolutely nothing from "support." When I say nothing, I am a little wrong, a PC dev has come over on two or three occasions to say "the console team is aware." If it wasn't for CyrpticSpartan - and i feel sorry for the dude to be honest - here and on Reddit, seriously like two or three times, we would have absolutely no support communications at all from anyone.
I understand the sycophants who say that "they are working hard and don't have time to say anything," but let me say this, those who claim that are wrong. i don't care if you worked in the industry or not - unless you are working for Cryptic on STO you have no idea what is going on, neither do we, and its becoming apparent that neither do they. I am not mad at the devs or the community management team - I understand that they can only do what the ones who sign the pay checks say they can. That's who I am mad at, that's who you should be mad at - and Perfect World has a bad reputation when it comes to communication overall... maybe not with every game, but overall.
We are paying to play this game - not everyone is, but a lot of us are. That being said, we deserve something. I don't want free keys or a free T6 ship - i want what was promised to be delivered. If the delivery is going to be delayed, I want someone to tell me, not sit here waiting on an update that will never come. If that is too much to ask, so be it, then it is obviously too much to ask for us to stick around, and more so, to continue to spend money. If Cryptic wanted this to fail, they should have just never released it, but i suppose if they did that, they wouldn't have made all the money that they have.
so still no news as to why we didn't get the 1.12 update when it was said that yesterday was the day? the community manager didn't crawl out from under his rock to enlighten us as to why were being treated as second class gamers. did someone tell them that console gamers are an easy mark?
problems make me annoyed when I'm annoyed I dig around.i sometimes don't like what I find.
I did not realize that the lifetime sub to this game gave you LESS than what it did on pc....why?
I did not realize that anything that could get you a T6 ship from grinding isn't included in the console version.why?
I can purchase items from the c store that wont give me anything, because the content isn't there yet.why?
content ( telling me what level I am and how far I am from my next level) was removed. why? and when will we get it back?
my toon and ship go invs or sometimes hover a few feet over the map? why and when will it be fixed?
the term "free to play" is an easy fall back position for not fixing things. well some of us actually give you money.heavens knows why.and expect clarity and information on things. I already closed the tap to my wallet. your souring the game to me. when I get sour I take my time and money elsewhere. il give it to a company that seemingly wants it more and treats its customers correctly.
a company that doesn't promise me things, not live up to the promise .but come hat in hand asking for more money.
I am disappointed, frustrated and annoyed. those are not things that a company that wants to sell me things should let me feel.because my wallet like a clam shuts tight when its left hanging.
it could be a cultural thing,i don't know where the company is from. I have a heck of a time dealing with many aisian companies. it seems that their level of expectation when it comes to customer service isnt the same as it is in the west. if that's the case...tell us.
I expect compensation for being left in the dark and lied to. Everyone should get a nice "I'm sorry for letting you down and not saying anything about anything, ever" free gift. Love the game and never played it on pc so been excited about all this extra content that's supposedly coming out. Guess I was wrong. Oh well, I can play Skyrim and not spend any more money for a company that obviously cares little about the player. Later.
So another post up on facebook about a new lockbox but no info on the missing update?? What a bunch of incompetent morons run this this game
Apparently ones who are too bothered and too busy to get distracted by logging into twitter to tell us its not coming tomorrow, but soon. I mean, I'd take that answer over nothing at all.
Did it occur to you guys that maybe Cryptic doesn't actually control when console patches go live? They make the patches then turn them over to Sony/Microsoft....

Nothing. Nada.
Disappointing

False advertisement
Agree
Even after that, she still doesn't seem to get it.
What fleet are ye? Xbox or PS4?
http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/playstation/star-trek-online/news/detail/10266833-vaadwaur-lockbox-ship-stats
We are excited that this is not true! Since there is no update out yet, the Lockboxes are still Kelvin Time Line. Stop teasing us with false information and give us some facts! If it will take longer because of a mistake who cares. We just want to know when and why!
but yet again. this company restores no faith by being silent. - 500 reputation marks cryptic. your kinda not very good
What fleet are ye? Xbox or PS4?[/quote]
Any information would be better than no information. Silence will make us mad. All work and no play...
I think they meant November 15th 2017!!!!
