Can you update the game so the events reset based on calendar day?
I know this game is mainly using the 20 hour mark... but to me it'll be easier to plan my gaming if the events are fixed to reset based on calendar day.
this helps a lot when juggling multiple characters since events like CE is not account unlocks.

Your welcome.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
Further, all those 20 hour cooldowns, well, in most cases I do them at evening. So I am practically already using a 24 hour scheme.
Now as to how many hours = a day in game I'm all for 14.5+ X [where X is a RNG number of minutes from 30 to 1,080]. That'll keep everyone guessing! We know from the game that time is flexible in the STO universe.
Hey I'm a nut, and I endorse this suggestion.
IMO, making all timers (tour the galaxy, hourly rep (the 3 max for 200), etc.). The change would make for a much more streamlined process of managing timers across multiple characters
I, for one, think that's an outright terrible idea - it lacks the flexibility of the current system.
What flexibility would you be losing? you can do it at 9pm, then next day do it at 3pm and after that at 2am... this gives you more flexibility. it's not like they give you 20 attempts and you dont lose em if you dont play... the events are based on days and it ticks off each day... basing the timer reset on calendar day gives players more flexibility on when they play.
Normally these events start after maintenance... which means for folks who work or go to school all day... we play in the evening. if an event runs from 11/11 to 12/12... on 12/12 it'll end before folks can play in the evenings. if the timer was set for say 12am, folks can still play and get their shot in before going to bed/server goes down for maintenance.
sure if your a part of the tiny minority of players who can play and run the event on the nose every 20 hours... you loose out. But I don't think they amount to any significant part of the population who plays this game. In fact the most who can benefit from that would be the gold farmers or accounts that are shared by multiple people.
Reference first reply.
At the moment one can choose for oneself, when the time of event reset will be - with a fixed daily rotation you'll have to meet an fixed arbitrary timing.
even runs from PST anyway on when maintenance is done... it doesnt matter what region or country your in, Europe, Austrialia, Japan, Canada... its servers down at 6 or 7am and up whenever. This wont change... the events will still end based on when it does. They say events start at 10am on XYZ and will end on 10am on ABC. That wont change... only the reset will change to a fixed time for everyone.
2nd point, I dont care if the reset for quests/missions is at 12am or 3am or 6 am or 9am. Just that the reset is standardize and global.
and at the moment you can not choose, it's an illusion... its 20 hours sure but you have a finite number of days to run an event. It's already fixed. But now your locked in at 20 hours when you last run it. if they fixed the reset on a fixed time, you can do 2 runs within 4 hours if you like. 1st run, an hour before the reset. then a 2nd run right after.
With the current system... you do a run and your next run isnt for 20 hours... if you run late you cant do it for another 3 hours... look its 23 hours... next day it's late and your too tired to do it when you wake up and you loose a day cause it's more than 20 hours.

Yes, beginning and ending of an event are fixed, but not when I play it during the day. If I happen to be usually playing around the reset time a lot, whether I play "today" or "tomorrow" may depend on a lot of random stuff, other hobbies, overtime at work, and suchlike. For me at the moment a large issue: unpredictable commuting times from work due to major road constructions. So on any given day it is mostly a dice roll whether it will count for "monday" or "tuesday". The first case would be fine, but the second would mean losing out on "monday" without any chance getting it back, while "tuesday" is already filled and I cannot use it anymore. Now I may on the next day only have time to play on "tuesday", not "wednesday" (i. e. earlier due to an evening appointment), losing out on another day. And, if they were to use the same reset timer as for the dil refinement, this could easily apply to lots of Europeans, making it extremely likely that many would not be able to complete projects if they weren't willing to use virtually every day for potentially playing STO because you could easily lose that one third of leeway events usually give to randomness.
Yes, it sometimes may be useful on the other hand, doing "monday" and then immediately "tuesday" just after that, getting two checkmarks filled in one session. But the inconvenience of the first case would easily kill the added convenience of the second for me.
With a 20hr timer, everybody (with a somewhat regular daily schedule) can arrange the times and make it work for himself. With a set cutoff point, that would not only seem random on a lot of places of the world, but also take away control over whether you play "today" or "tomorrow" when you sit down, and thus over your ability to complete events and suchlike.
