Increase DSE numbers and spawn times.

Now that Red Alerts are queued, getting some to trigger during non-peak hours takes too long. One might as well wait for a full STF, which again can be quite long if playing during non-peak hours.

I miss the fast action of how Red Alerts were, so how can we get some aspect of the game going for faster actual game playing action without queues? Perhaps they could increase the number of DSEs in sector maps. Those provide instant action save for the travel time to get to them.

At this games launch there were DSEs all over the sector map. Getting into some space combat fast was easy, now it's not.

DSEs now are few and far between. Often times they are completed by the time one travels to them. My suggestion is to revert back to having them appear on the sector map(s) with the same frequency as they did back at the time of the games launch.

Your thoughts on the matter please.

Oh, and either give the bonus skill points to the Red Alerts back, or put them into the DSEs.

    Great idea!

Considering how much of a boost the RA got for dil...you must be playing at REALLY odd hours to have trouble getting them to pop. That said...I would not mind more DSE with boosted rewards to replace RA and have more jump and go game back. Honestly, I would gladly take reduced dil and all the new rewards and not even have the exp boost back if it mean RA could go back to jump and go.

I play most from midnight to about 6 AM PST - the red alerts take about six minutes to pop but they go so fast. It's not huge I must admit, but it's annoying to me. I want to play, not wait. I do play STFs a ton - but usually with premades so waiting isn't an issue with that.

Having more battle-zones might and for all level ranges could also help in having something not gated by queues to do when one just wants to play!

I'm all for any solution that reduces my sitting staring at the queue roster instead of playing.

I just did a Tholian RA.

2:03 am PST - I queue for RA, zero instances were ongoing, wait time listed is 4:38
2:07 - second player joins queue
    2:08 - third player joins
    2:09 - fourth player joins
2:10 - fith and final player joins, countdown to join starts
2:10:30 - all players join instance according to queue roster
    2;11 - game starts
    2;12 - instance ends

    8 minutes of waiting
    1 minute of playing

What I always find irritating is going to a DSE only to have it disappear when you pull up to it. Then the same DSE type just pops up on the other side of the map.

It would be nice if the gateways to them would not pop up in one place or the other, but at both places at the same time.

some of the DSE portals seem to be bugged, especially the gorn ones, it appears on the galaxy map but when you get to the location there is no red portal just the to enter the DSE just the white text and sometimes with others the portal will be visible but when you fly to it there is no popup to allow you in.

Anything which reduces waiting for something to occur and increases play time is always a good thing. I have a problem with the Terran DSE to what someone described above. It only occurs in the one place in the Beta Quadrant and no matter how close I am, when I get there the only thing in place is the white text.

I think some of them are level restricted but still appear to all players on the sector map. I could be (and often am) wrong.

Hopefully someone has the full info on that and can post here.

Not sure but I have had level 60 toons searching all around for triggers, I think faction could be another factor.

I'm sure once Cryptic realizes how popular DSE's are becoming, they'll find a way to time-gate those as well. This game is becoming 'play what we say, not what you like'. My biggest issue with the queues is even when you have more than enough people, it doesn't pop right away, and someone always gets impatient and leaves, then you have to wait all over again...

oops - I should have been clearer - I think they (DSEs) may be level restricted to a low or medium level.

When the game launched there were DSEs all over the maps - but they were for narrow level ranges then, you had to hunt for ones in your level range. It wasn't so hard though as the sectors were somewhat designed then for a particular level range too.

I hate to say this - but now that you've brought DSE's to Al (Captain Geko) Rivera's attention; he'll probably convert then to a queue like the just did with the Red Alerts. I really wish Cryptic would transfer him to a Cryptic game worthy of his "talent" - like say, Champions Online. ;)

Gads I sure hope nothing like that happens. That would be truly unfortunate.
