I want to start a discussion about how to save the old fleets ingame. Armadas give you a small impact for it. What about give ALL (vetran and non-vetetran) fleet members a extra (second) veteran bonus like the Day Veteran. Make it a SPECIAL Holding Project.
Maybe leader could choose two of four like this:
+2.5% Team Damage at 700 Day Fleet Veteran
+2.5% Team Heal at 700 Day Fleet Veteran
+2.5% Team Crit Change at 700 Day Fleet Veteran
+2.5% Team Crit Damage at 700 Day Fleet Veteran
Also Aramada Bonus could be given as an extra 10% mix bonus of all fleet bonuses included.
Example: fleet A +2,5% Dmg and +2,5% CritH, fleet B +2,5% CritD and +2,5% CritH give an Armada Bonus of +0,25% Dmg +0,5% CritH +0,25% CritD
These are just numbers and possible suggestion of the bonus type, but what about the idea?
Make it big, save our old fleets and honor them!
Greetz Marco
Edit: changed "Save" to "Honor" Sorry for misunderstanding.

Like 700 Day Veteran +5% Team Expertience Point Bonus. 1-5 player team, so single player included. From the viewpoint of social network maybe single player excluded.

Starting to wonder, what, exactly, is this trying to do?
Starting with what does "save our old fleets" mean? How are fleets "failing", and how is it that applying an even bigger DPS boost to the fleet members is going to be the "saving grace"?
To me, fleets have fallen into one of three "types". The "big" fleet that has everything (and issues in garnering fleet credits), the "smallish" fleet that was big but is reduced to "die hards only", and the "small from the very beginning" fleets (like mine).
In most likelihood, it's the middle type of my three that "needs" saving, and the only way to do that isn't to boost DPS to astronomical levels even more than what powercreepitis has done, it's gotta be some sort of "re-recruitment" drive that convinces all those who have left the game (especially those soured from the DR patrol fiasco and the "exclusivity" deals) to return to "full time playing" status...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

You are truly brave OP. Even as players are posting in protest of the ever increasing DPS scale; you would propose another fleet holding in the name of a farce to push that DPS scale up even more.
Let me spare you the wait....No. The devs would never do this in a million years.

Well, give them +Skillpoints Bonus or something else special. The fact is older fleets do not benefit from anything in game. It is not the Damage boost, it is the honor for old members and players ingame and a try to make fleets special. For now you only need one fleet and everybody ask for invite. Thats the truth. For that reason you can delete all fleets ingame and make one big fleet called Federation, Klingon Empire or Romulan Alliance and implement a big storage box or increase account bank storage.

...yeah....the same argument could be said for guilds/fleets/corporations in any MMO. But to be honest, there are plenty of benefits to be in a fleet and the fact that you assert there isn't leads me to conclude that you aren't experienced enough with them to know better.

He's not proposing another fleet holding, a special holding project is not the same as another fleet holding, please read before you start puking out words.
He's proposing to do something to make it more valuable to be in a veteran fleet. Fleets are dying in STO because there are no real benefits to being in a fleet. People tend to make their own mini-fleets for god knows what purpose (to exploit the fleet bank, or because they somehow feel important). Maybe if there are bonusses to being in an (old) veteran fleet, players will be tempted again to actually look for a good fleet, instead of creating another mini-fleet themselves. I think it would be great if PWE could do something to revitalize the fleet system and the whole social aspect of the game.
Also if you think 2.5% team damage is going to make a change to the "DPS scale" (whatever you mean by that), you dont really understand how dps works. Hell... even something as simple as a 3 piece Iconian set will give up to a 90x larger team damage bonus...
I don't think anyone would mind if one of the rewards was a +2.5% team bonus to dilithium payout from queues or missions.
As while it's a bonus for joining a fleet, but doesn't necessarily punish those who don't by waving a ship/DOff/BOff/weapon or whatever under their nose and going 'neiner-neiner-neiner, you don't get this'... I don't think I'd have a problem with it. It actually fits well with some of the bonuses from the Captain Specializations that give similar boosts.
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
it seems, to me anyway, the answer to this less asking the devs for some thing more step up recruitment. if your fleet is dieing and your not actively seeking new blood then it deserves to die.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

You do realize you can just get an invite to a T5 starbase in this game and enjoy all the benefits right? Heck you dont even have to be in a fleet to get an invite. Hence there are no real benefits to be in an older fleet with finished holdings, as opposed to being in a fleet with T1 holdings. Hence why it's not unattractive for weird players to keep creating mini-fleets for no appearant reason. Hence why it's a good idea to introduce a game mechanic that makes it attractive to be in an old fleet that has survived the test of time.

The problems I see most often with my Fleet which falls into the "small amount of dedicated members" category is that (a) players join and then simply vanish or (b) fail to understand that you need Fleet Credit to buy Fleet Gear and that you need to earn this by contributing to projects. With the latter, the majority then simply ignore this basic fact before whining that we did not allow them to buy fleet gear and leave.
The only way to save Fleets is to ensure that players are aware of the way that a Fleet works, perhaps something in the tutorials or when you get your first command to explain that you can elect to join a fleet and earn credit by helping build fleet holdings would help. This would at least get around any language issues which could contribute to lack of understanding.
Another possible way to help would be to add an EC weekly boost to the Fleet Research Lab, this would at least allow Fleets to assist members earn the EC needed to complete holdings projects, rep projects etc. Featured episodes could also offer a Fleet Assistance voucher EC or dil or marks instead of the current lock box.

Okay, so you're requesting yet another "fleet function". Could be perfectly reasonable, let's see what happens.

Wait a second, this looks more like a "hey, let's make LTS / 700 Days subscribed a "better value" by adding a selectable layer of powercreep that can only be unlocked by joining a fleet and being at the whims of the fleet leader.
Also Aramada Bonus could be given as an extra 10% mix bonus of all fleet bonuses included.

And here I see "look, join an armada and get even moar powercreep.

You are not giving constructive criticism, all you and kjfett do is go to each forum post you can find and whine about your precious powercreep and "DPS scale". Because you don't understand how players get high dps, doesn't mean that PWE did something to help increase it. Have you considered that other players simply have a deeper understanding of the game mechanics which lets them have higher dps than you?
So thanks for your opinion and point of view. Fortunately you are not the only person, who plays STO. I'm at least worried about the game. If you finished with it, maybe let it go.
I never wrote fleets have some big issues. I wrote old fleets should be honered for the time and work so it would be a pleasure for everybody to be a part of it and join them. Thats all I wrote. Create your own fleet whenever you want to but some years ago, fleets took on an important role in the game. There were highly well known fleets. Now you have toons in different fleets, nobody knows the name of. So why I called it "old" fleets, because "new" fleets do not have a big name in the whole universe for now, because they are obviously new.
So whats going wrong by honor fleets because of their long existence? STO honors players, because they become veteran. I read many words but no point, why it is wrong. There is no need for writing "There is an other fact" and you do not start to write the fact. It is easy to say something is wrong and dont explain why it is wrong. For now you are against it, because you are against it. This is no discussion.

I don't QQ about power creep and "DPS scale". Others do and had you actually bothered to read my initial post, you would have noticed that is what I said. Oh, and no, I've not considered it because that is irrelevant to my points. I would suggest you work on your reading comprehension before typing out post #4.

Interesting, I point out that you are spamming and you respond by accusing me of being a spammer. If you topic had merit, you wouldn't need to bump it/push it and it wouldn't drift offtopic. Anyway, I'll move on. Enjoy bumping your "well thought out" plan.
Funny thing the thread title contains the word SAVE which infers there is an issue or problem which is affecting your fleet hence the "Give our aging fleet a bonus which newer fleets don't have" approach especially as you also mention about this being to encourage players to join ... does this mean that your old fleets roster is actually full of "dead wood" players who no longer contribute?
I'd rather see more fair ways of managing fleet projects. Provisioning is a great example - provisions should be tied to the individual player. I admit I have no idea how this would be implemented, but the way fleets are now folks are in serious competition with each other to get the benefits. Not surprisingly it consumes a lot of time, dealing with hurt feelings, etc.
For that reason I fall into the third category, small from the beginning and just me. It's level 35 (in sixteen days L38 once I finish the K-13 tier 1) - I'd like to open it up to other players but just don't want to get into the headache of managing queues/people.
As co-leader of a VERY old fleet... I don't see how this is going to do much. A retroactive bonus for having created a fleet over a certain time ago? lol wut?
I will admit proudly I am a heavy troller on the forums, but when I read the OP's post I was really curious about the problems with older fleets and wanted to know more about it. I was not trolling you OP, I really want to hear your take on the current issues and problems with older fleets as a game, as both a player, and an owner of one.

Three forum posts? is this the Alt you drag out to flame without getting your hands dirty? lol
I don't QQ about power creep and "DPS scale". Others do and had you actually bothered to read my initial post, you would have noticed that is what I said. Oh, and no, I've not considered it because that is irrelevant to my points. I would suggest you work on your reading comprehension before typing out post #4.
If it was a worthy matter, you wouldn't have to bump it repeatedly to try and get any traction. I'm sure I'm not the only one around here annoyed by your attempts to keep this alive over other threads that generate their own traction without the OP's useless "Next one please " and "after some haters. push " posts.
It is not a secret, that spammers like you lead threads in offtopic to reach their own goals. Please write something about who to honor old fleets (ontopic) or let it go, thanks.

Interesting, I point out that you are spamming and you respond by accusing me of being a spammer. If you topic had merit, you wouldn't need to bump it/push it and it wouldn't drift offtopic. Anyway, I'll move on. Enjoy bumping your "well thought out" plan.
For that reason I fall into the third category, small from the beginning and just me. It's level 35 (in sixteen days L38 once I finish the K-13 tier 1) - I'd like to open it up to other players but just don't want to get into the headache of managing queues/people.
