Promoted to Moderator

mackermomomackermomo Member Posts: 247 Arc User
Anyone know what this is about? I reviewed the answers to some of my recent questions and noticed at the top of my list of answers was a little notification "Promoted to Moderator." I'm guessing this is a new ARC feature and that there are likely hundreds of us "moderators" out there.

Honestly, I'm returning to the game after a 3 year hiatus. I'm re-learning the game, which has changed considerably.

Is there anyone else who is a "moderator" out there that can tell me what has changed now that I'm a moderator? I don't see any difference in the forum tools or the info I receive. No one has contacted me and I don't have a list of questionable posts to review.

My take on this is that being a moderator on the ARC forums is quite easy to obtain and doesn't really mean anything, based on what I'm currently seeing and my low number of forum posts. I'm certainly open to learn.

My real hope is that my newfound status will impress my wife so much that I no longer have to wash the dishes every night or take the dogs out at 2:00 AM. Wish me luck!

I think anyone with over a year or reasonable posts has been promoted.

Trying to look for common theme among the newly promoted, some suggestions have been:
    * Console players -- A number of PC players have been promoted, so that's out
    * Bug Hunters -- I'm not a Bug Hunter, so that's out.
    * Number of posts -- @ultimatedoomer01 only has 4. Nope!
    * Amount of activity -- @mackermomo has been away for 3 years, nix that idea.
    * Age of Account -- Maybe, but unlikely. Several people with accounts at least as old as me didn't get it. I haven't seen any new "Mods" with less than a year, though.
    * Foundry authors -- My idea, because I couldn't think of anything else that might be common among all the new promotes. Can anyone debunk this idea?
    * Glitch/bug/accident -- most likely situation, any REAL Mods able to confirm this?

I'll do more than this. If you need backup or confirmation of your story, I can provide it. She'll have to believe both of us. After all, if it's on the InterWebs, it must be true. We married men have to hang together or else we'll all hang separately, lol.

Same here. I haven't logged onto the forums in awhile, and was just promoted for some reason.

nevermind....seems it was a bug and has been/will be fixed per Trendy.

I don't care what the header says, I am not now, nor have I ever been, nor will I ever be, an "ARC user".

    Yup! We're all peons again.

But I do like the idea of a special forum title for Foundry authors... but maybe I'm a bit biased on that topic.

I think this was an Agents of Yesterday promotion where we see a brief glimpse of a possible future where we're all forum mods.

Thanks for all the help, folks. Seems my moment of fame has passed. Well, the good thing is that the wife read it before going to work. Hopefully she doesn't find out I've been demoted, and I won't have to do the dishes tonight.

I like the way I was promoted to Moderator, and then promoted again to ARC user. Wish I'd taken a screenshot.

Maybe the forum software was trying to match the rate of promotion our characters get?

If there isn't a way to delete your notifications, you can take a screenshot of your profile's notifications page.
Both of mine (promoted to mod, promoted to Arc user) are still there.

Too funny! Yes, I'll take the backup if it comes to that. We have a sick dog on steroids who pees 24-7. "Honey, you remember how I was promoted to moderator today, right? Maybe you can take her out tonight and let me sleep?"

I'll tell you if it works. J
