Origin of Lukari

Ok what i knew before that Lukari are from moon Lukari and thats theirs homeworld, but then after playing a Echoes of light Kumarke said that they settled moon after leaving their dying homeworld.

So actually that explains why they already have holodeck technology, warp 2 and they really fast adapt to situations so they learn fast, but i was thought thats cause thier "homeworld" was dying in sunrise, so it was been find solution or die.

But weird thing is if they colonised Lukari, and they already reached 8 billion inhabitants, that means they leaved that homeworld before long time, so why they don't have a more advanced technology? Or they decided to forgot and start all over again.

So does anyone has idea from where they come, when and what happened to their Homeworld of Kentar, i was readed dev blogs, but this is first time its mentioned, in Post war era 2-Lukari species its mentioned that only would be hard to evacuate 8 billion inhabitants as all ships they posses are scientific and there wouldn't be enough room for all, and where they would go.

Is there maybe some canon from books or novels about them, or we will get more info about them and their history in laters episodes?

I suppose it depends on how many people settled over, but if it, say, were the equivalent of the amount of US settlers, I think 8 Billion would not be far-fetched after a few centuries, especially if you have some "jump-start" technology.

I suspect the challenge of maintaining a high tech society is that you need a certain amount of people to do so, too. And you need even more to advance its technology.

They might have forgotten very little of what they knew - but they were busy building up an infrastructure and taming the planet's ecosphere to their needs (e.g. agriculture), and the old ships probably were only designed to barely support the people that flew with them, not future generations.

Of course, there could also be sociological aspects that might have lowered their interest in technological advancement - if Kentar was destroyed by them and not "natural" causes, they might have been hesistant to do the same thing again.

Well, sometimes cultures just don't focus on technology. Especially if there isn't much outside pressure. The Americas were pretty much still in the stone age. Japan was basically a medieval country in the 1800s, but they managed to become a modern industrialized country in about 50 years, being a world power about 1910 or so.

lukari trait is "rat like breeding" they have 15-25 children in one year. that would explain 8 billion lukari.

This makes me think the Lukari didn't actually recently invent warp travel. They simply hadn't built any warp capable ships for centuries, and the ones they'd built before were basically cargo ships.

Not necessarily. Remember, the Romulans left Vulcan in pre-warp ships. Could be the Luraki did the same

Personally, I think the early settlers took the same approach as the Ba'ku by intentionally imprisoning themselves on that world and hiding knowledge of Warp tech.

At least they're not hippy elves like the Ba'ku...

One possibility is that they dismantled their ships to build their new homes. Then realized they couldn't rebuild them.

I'm going for the sub-warp travel theory, myself. Technically, it's within reason that we could have Interstellar travel with current Earth technology, if we built generation ships. It would take us a LONG time to reach a possible destination, and the chances are we'd fail, but it's "possible". And who is to say that this "dying world of Kentar" was actually in another system? They certainly seem to have a lot of asteroids in their system, perhaps Kentar was another moon or planet in the same system?

The biggest thing with generational ships... is it needs to be the size of a CITY.... And it needs to be propelled through space to a destination. So enormous vessel, thus enormous thrust to move.

Perhaps warp technology led to the destruction of their original planet, and they opt'd to ban it on arrival on their new moon? Over time it became a "lost wax casting method" as the warp tech taboo faded with new generations?

Maybe the asteroids are from their original destroyed world?
