Lone wolf?

narxes081206narxes081206 Member Posts: 84 Arc User
Just unlocked Lone wolf 1 from the specialization pilot tree, however, I can't find the skill to equip it. I've changed instances and reloaded the game and it isn't there. Anyone else experience this, and if so, any solutions?

many powers don't populate automatically. On the PC pull up the list of powers, i think the hotkey is k. The list is alphabetical so scroll to the L section, then just drag and drop into your power tray of choice. I find active reputation powers are like this too.

On the console i don't know the step-by-step but it should work just like adding powers to your menus.

I'm pretty sure Lone Wolf is just an automatic effect and you don't slot anything.

Bingo. Most specialization abilities are "passives" of some sort. I want to say "Rock and roll" and intel's Tier 4 "skills" are the only ones that come with a "button to activate".
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Lone wolf is not a passive.

Make sure the Pilot specialization is set as your primary. Not secondary, since secondary will only access the first two tiers.

Didn't realize this! Thanks, I'll try and confirm.

Yes, you do need to have pilot as your primary. And to the two above, lone wolf is definitely a clicky not a passive.

I'm running a beam boat at the moment. Which tree do you recommend for the primary and secondary between intelligence and pilot?

Part of that depends on the exact ship and playing style you have. Larger ships, for example, can benefit more from Pilot's abilities and bonuses (especially carriers since their hanger pets can count as 'allies') with it slotted as the primary. Smaller, more manuverable ships, however - especially Raiders - work well with Intelligence for the primary since you can use the Tier 3 Intel flanking boosts which stack with Raider Flanking to good effect when you can get behind an enemy ship (If you've got a beam boat build, especially one with 360 Arrays, you can just keep circling around behind the bigger enemies, staying in their rear arc and eating away at them...).

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

Turbo's advice is pretty spot on.

If you fly well enough that getting behind your enemy is easy, intel primary will rock. If not, pilot.

do also look at command and strategist if you team often, and temporal if you use damage over time effects, like plasma, gravity well, etc.
