still here, foundry not working

hey all, those who remember me, i still am unable to create new foundry missions, because still, to this day, since i returned, the foundry editor will not work on my computers, and i have tried it on my windows 7 and windows10. i have had no help from star trek , the only options to fix it it seems is to do that patch thing, that everyone always says to do..... its been about a year or so and still i am unable to use the editor..... everytime i try, it says its patching, but it freezes... then times out cause it pauses for so long.... if anyone ANYONE knows how the f******g hell i am able to get the foundry editor to actually WORK for once, so i can actually create missions again (i got loads of ideas), please, someone some advice to get it working? and if anyone else is experiencing this for so long (or just unlucky me), also leave a comment please. AND if indeed star trek does give a $**t about it, please FIX IT !!!!! i want to create missions again !!! This is the Prime reason i do not get a subscription or lifetime membership, because of this. IF this was fixed, and i was able to use the foundry, then i would bother with that. But until it gets fixed, i rarely go on the game anymore, because this has got me pissed off sooo much . so ya. whatever. i doubt anything will be done. i also doubt i am the only one experiencing this, and i don't doubt this post will be deleted, no doubt about it. but whatever. too bad. too f*****g bad.

Disabling patch on demand should prevent the game from attempting to patch while the foundry is actually open. Are you sure you actually did that?

The only thing I can suggest (if you haven't done this yet) is to go into the launcher (what you use to start the game) and click options (upper right.) Then, check two settings.

On demand patching - make sure it's OFF
Proxy server - make sure you're using none

Also, because this problem is occurring during an operation that relates to servers, double check your own home network (it could be a local problem, bumping your connection once a certain operation is attempted). One place to start are the recommended network tests to Cryptic, instructions linked here. Other things to investigate are your modem, router (you may want to try setting up open ports for STO), ISP, and any other modifications that may have been made to your connection (ex. using a VPN).

What's needed now isn't shouting, it's detail. Cryptic won't be able to do anything with the information "it's not working" because that doesn't troubleshoot the possibilities. Test what I recommended above, report back, and include system information (which is going to be crucial for any investigation of specific hardware compatibility problems.) General details on how you're connecting might also be helpful.

I understand how this could be very frustrating, but I also understand that the only way past these problems is a methodical approach.

my interenet connection is 100MBps , i've checked the router, modem, all the stuff on my end working great, more than great, as always lol . i have the on demand patching sorted already, and the proxy server is already set at none. i am checking that link out , and will post again sometime soon. i'm pretty sure i did all this already a while ago, but i'll look into it all again . :)

well done all recommended suggestions, and still nothing working for me. .... .... .... perhaps it's not created for great computers.... or my theory of bad luck continues to be true lol well perhaps a few million years from now i'll be able to use the foundry editor .... depends how many centuries it takes for them to fix it, i know i am not the only one with the problem of not being able to use the editor. anyhow i think waiting a year and a half has been long enough , so at least no one can say i did not give them a chance to fix the editor. so after so long and still not being able to, i think that's it for me. so unfortunately i won't be creating any awesome stories with the editor, and that's too bad, cause i have idea's that No one has thought of yet, as far as i can see, and Believe me, they are great idea's. But if i can't create the mission myself , if the editor won't work, then there's no point me getting a sub to the game, nor even bothering with it anymore. so f**k it. the funny thing is i use to have a terrible computer years ago, and it worked, now when i have great computers, it don't work...... try to figure that one out, i can't. spend more money for a great computer only to have this game, and ONLY this game, of star trek, to not fully work..... i have subs to other games because they actually WORK , so , that's it. i'm done with this foundry editor stuff and star trek online. unless someone gives me the good news , on how to have the editor work!!! alrighty Peace. bye bye.

The only other suggestions I can think of is Safe Mode, complete uninstall/reinstall or using a different computer. Don't give up just yet. And threatening to leave won't make Cryptic do anything about it because no one else is having this problem (or speaking up about it).

It's sad to see an author go because they take with them good ideas.

Keeping in mind, its 'pointless' at this moment as the foundry editor is down for everyone for an indeterminate amount of time (probably at least 7 days, probably 10, possibly more.

Have you at all submitted a ticket that might get someone who can look at 'the guts' of your account and see if there is something corrupt there?

Yeah, wait for the foundry to come back up after the update, it's the biggest change in a long time for foundry.
