After coming back from a year break, I've returned to my first character I created back in 2010. I always wanted to be able to play with space magic, err, science! So I'm following some designs that some others have made with a science/torp ship but the programmer in me noticed something with the math...
Torpedo spread has a 30 second cooldown. Now you can bring it down to 15 seconds if you run two which looks nice. But I really want to get away with just one copy. I'm trying to use a AW2 skill cooldown build but when I do the math, I need to get under 50% reduction if I understand things correctly.
So if I use AW2 which gives a 10% recharge reduction that's 30% total reduction.
Assuming I also have the following:
Tactical Readiness - .10
Bio-neaural Gel Pack - .07
2 Krenin bridge officers - 2 x .10
This will give me ( again, if I understand things correctly ):
(1-.30)/(1+.1+.07+(2x.1))
.7/1.37
.510905
So .510905*30 seconds = 15.328 seconds and that's still not under 15 seconds if the game lags.
Those two Krenin boffs are not cheap lol. Just wanted to verify I'm on the right trace in the name of science!
