Suggestion for Thanksgiving Event

captainmikeccaptainmikec Member Posts: 94 Arc User
I had a random thought earlier and thought I would throw it out there. The planet killer looks a lot like a cornucopia....
For Thanksgiving we should have a planet killer based event with it skinned as a giant cornucopia; maybe have it attacking a planet with a bird based population.

I think that would be pretty awesome lol

Would food stuffs be overflowing from this re-skinned Doomsday Cornucopia ?
Could we eat said food stuffs ?
Maybe it could spit out Event food items, and the very rare purple food items.
We could follow it around and scan the anomaly food deposits it drops, like we do with omega particles...

This should be filed under the "funny but stupid ideas" heading.

    Happy Thanksgiving

Q turning planet killers into giant turkeys?

Yes, please, yes! Especially if the Undines get the hats.

Or going to Iconia and see how the reconstruction is progressing, having dinner with the Council (minus T'Ket who is brooding in her room with her Sela voodoo doll, of course).

Thanksgiving event to satisfy only 1 country!? What about all the others that don't have Thanksgiving!? Keep it to Winter and Summer thanks!

    People and their bird-brained ideas.
(extra point for bird reference in Thanksgiving post)

    Leem and magnus,

Star Trek trek is a US based franchise, majority of player base are US, Cryptic is in US, its primary and target audience is in US. So its going to lean towards US culture. You should get used to this fact, its not going to be secular.

Now if I was playing a Dr. Who, Mr. Bean, Benny Hill, or Monty Python MMO id would expect to hear about Guy Fawks day, Bank day, Boxing Day, St Davids day, Good Friday.

No other American specific holidays are in the game so why should that one? Currently there's only a generic Northern (scre.w you Australia :p) winter and summer holiday and First Contact day.

Bugger off censor, you're not stopping me from using words even a five year old would use.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

We can't get the Dev Team to return the Day of Honor and First Contact Day missions, or, the Terror Dome STF, or, a Featured Episode Replay, or, a repeat of release of some of the exclusive items from past Events and people want to add a US-specific holiday to a game which has too many STFs and boring events like Mirror Universe Invasion?

It's a bit late for suggestions for any events or special give-aways, I think. You might now make suggestions for next year's Summer Event (probably not the Anniversary Event). (Mine is the same as always: Yellow Science Vessel Submarine. )

That's Bonfire Night, not Guy Fawkes' day. No such thing as Bank day either. 'Bank Holiday' is BUSINESS related and has nothing to do with any celebration. Good Friday is part of the Easter Holidays and none of the 'Saints' days are holidays. Whilst ST was born in the US, it's enjoyed in dozens of countries and there is a larger ST audience outside of the US than in it! The fact is Summer Holidays and Christmas Holidays are widely celebrated in many countries, Thanksgiving is not. Keep it as it is, where everybody celebrates something they ALL have in common.

Also, ST is not based on US culture. Even the TOS was MULTI-CULTURAL.

BTW...How very 'Trump' of you! By that, I mean bigotted.

Weekend events like this would be fun. This is definitely better than the previously suggested Thanksgiving events.

I'd settle for the return of the Hourly events again. Dump the current STF queue model bar the Fleet based.

Next year for a halloween type event it would be interesting to see them use the Hur'q sending races that they had created against the different factions, with the Fek'Ihri going after the KDF for example, which could lead into their return during a later expansion. You would not have to really make it too halloween feeling, since the Fek'Ihri fit that style a bit, while their own ships could be fun to see added thru such a event too. I could also see the Devidians playing a part in this type of event too

I definitely agree that a thoroughly thanksgiving type event would just not fit int the sto setting, and appeal to enough of the playerbase. An I could see a Halloween like event going over much better than a thanksgiving event, most of all since a halloween event has several other events irl that it an take ques from like the Day of the dead celebrations for example.

It would be awesome to fight off some "Alien" Xenomorphs that have invaded a small outpost (License pending!!). Oh the HORROR!

yeah, or a resurgence of the neural parasites/buegil on a starbase, or starship for that matter, as either a special mission (to replace the one we normally get) or as a stf event.
