Hi im a first time player of STO on the ps4. The other day I was in a deep space encounter when someone showed up in a federation ship sporting some cannons (I assume) that shot bolts with a fiery red iridescence to them. They did not look like polaron or anti-proton. The best description is that it appeared to be like he was shooting fire from his ship. I had never seen this type of animation before and cant' identify the weapon. I don't have any pictures unfortunately. Contacted the guy and no response either. Thanks for any input.

    Kelvin Timeline Phasers do that.

    It did not appear to be a projectile weapon and he used it with cannon scatter volley. I wasn't aware kelvin timeline weapons included cannons?

    The Kelvin Timeline Phaser arrays look like red cannon shots not single beams. Just like the recent movies

    it depends on what ship he saw using em but it definitely sounds like the Kelvin Phasers
