PvE Needs Improvement

PvE seems to be the best way to get reputation marks. But the problem is that unless it is a special event PvE a lot of times there are no players queued for PvE missions. Today for example I just wanted some Nukara marks to continue working on the reputation. Yet no one is queueing up for Nukara mark PvE.

Now I thought okay I'll play another PvE because it is choiuce of marks. But the only choice for that was fleet or terran. So I tried one of the Event PvE's that surely will let me choose from any marks like I have seen PvEs do before. But nope, only temporal or fleet.

So here I wasted my time waiting to join these PvEs and I still cannot get the marks I need.

Now I know it has the filter. But that is inconsistent because I know I have played PvEs that the filter does not point to and received a choice of marks. Just recently during the Mirror invasion Event, I was able to load up on marks from all the different reputations, but that one does not show up in the filter when you choose just Nukara. So which is it developers? Do you only offer all the marks during those events?

So back to my original point. No one is queueing for PvEs so what am I supposed to do stand around? I could work on missions, but then if I happen to get called to a Pve in the middle of the mission it screws that up and wastes time. Because I either choose to not join PvE and continue mission, or I scrub all the time I put into a mission to join PvE. And no continuing misison does not always put you right back where you were at and you may have to do things over.

They need more incentive for PvE and more SOLO PvE since people do not queue up for the old ones.

I think you mean STFs / queues. PvE = player vs. environment = all content except PvP (player vs. player).

why would you que for Nukara marks? You can get more than you need on open map missions, not to mention if you have to have some-one with you I have never seen Nakara Prime "empty". If marks are what you need, it rains there.

Now I will agree that we could use more incentive to do the older rep-ques, and ques by far, as having marks being the primary reward has a diminishing return effect on them once you hit a point (like getting all of the available gear from them), even if you can still farm the marks to covert to dil that is not always something everyone find as a draw. I would love to see the older reps get some updates to what their projects are, maybe even see them get some missions an or even a event that is tied to them. I hate to see so much content go to waste by being left behind as we keep progressing, and would find it nice to see these reps revisited an updated in small ways, which could actualy be nice ittle updates to keep people coming back for better metrics for cryptic.

    For Nukara Marks:

1- Crystaline Catastrophe Advanced PVE queue.
    2- Tholian Red Alert
    3- Na'Khul Red Alert
    4- Borg Disconnected PVE queue

PVE is just fine. Next time you feel like you can't get the marks you want, stop by the forums and ask around. We'll guide you. Cause a lot of us like to help.

Good luck! Hope you get the marks and/or gear you're looking for.

Wait wait wait, Nukara PvE queues.. dead..? Crystaline Catastrophe Advanced pretty much always immediately pops when I queue for it. It's the fastest, easiest way to get Nukara marks.

Looks like the OP is a console guy.
I can understand his frustration coming into the game as a new player. But as others have said except iconian marks there are many places that you can farm marks. Dyson sphere has many places for those that are pretty much solo. Nukura, Defera, New Rom, as well and do not need to be quequed.

Rep marks are supposed to represent favors the group in question owes you. "Choice of marks" therefore means letting you choose who owes you a favor after the fact, which makes no sense and should be removed.

In overall the queues need more unique rewards to incentivize playing something more than just ISA and CCA.

hard to improve on something that doesnt exist...
if maybe the front page of general discussion werent plagued with moronic posts about wanting more ships then maybe we would get more pve content,as it is i just login for special events like 2 or 3 times a years and thats about it.

Yap, precisely. Crystalline and Mirror Invasion events do offer a free choice of marks, but the "common" Crystalline queue does not. Probably the filter wasn't updated for "event", although MI should probably still be included.

I just do the Na'Khul red alerts which give you a choice of marks. Ground combat in this game is terrible, so are the missions in the Dyson Sphere(s), I'd rather pound my head on my desk than do them.

    ^This

OP seems to be under the false impression that pve queues are the only way to get marks, when, in fact, every reputation, sans the Iconian one, has an open battleground one can use to get marks.

Not to mention things like Borg, Tholian, and Na'Khul red alerts.

I have to agree that they've definitely made serious strides in improving where and how many marks you get for things.

I did loads of ground missions, if you find yourself in a que with few people you can switch by clicking the top of your map to a more populated shard.

The issue I think most people will still have is iconian. If it weren't for my ability to do the special events when i rejoined I would be struggling right now with that one so they do need to improve iconian mark aquisition and there is a serious problem with STFs I have to admit, loads of them almost never have anyone in them. If they made the rewards a bit better such as commendations points or points in the crafting tiers then it might make them more popular.

Well for one, last time I was on Nukara the marks did not come that quick. You get pitiful amounts in rewards so you waster hours there. Why a PvE is supposed to be a QUICK daily mission for marks. I mean based on your response, why even have the PvE then if your answer is just to go to Nukara. You are actually SUPPORTING my argument that the PvE needs to be revamped because it is useless, because according to you, just go to the planet.

Two, I can run around and do dailies while waiting for a PvE, unless as I said no one else is doing them, which is why they should look into it.

So thanks for supporting my post.

Thanks, I did not know about doing those. Someone who actually made a constructive comment that is helpful. Wow, most people tend to be obnoxious douche bags who can only make snide remarks.

Thank you for actually being helpful.

Really...you could not get CCA to pop...one of two queues that are constantly running. Nevermind that your entire premise is wrong...but you expect us to believe that you could not get a CCA game going. Yeah...BS.

I specifically used the filter to look for Queues that would give Nukara Marks and no one was in the queue for them. Maybe it was because the time of day or just unusual. But I did use the filter and select for Nukara marks only. That is why the very FIRST paragraph I said no one was playing those PvE because I used the filter.

When after using the filter, it did not show me anyone playing those. I played the mirror invasion PvE because I remembered it gave me choice of marks. But when I did it this time, it only had Fleet and Terran. SO that is why I then added the later paragraphs that it must only be choice of all marks when they are having the event.

Hmmm, that sounds weird. Sorry that happened. But take heart, Crystaline Catasrophe Advanced queue offers Nakura marks, pops almost once ever 15 seconds, is one of the most popular queues in the game, gets completed pretty quickly, and is generally fun.

So give that a try! And good luck getting the marks.

How about giving tactical players a reason to stay the new tier six tactical ships are dog TRIBBLE look at the T-6 battle cruiser, it does not even have a commander tactical seat the TACTICAL fleet escort has one pilot seat then look at engineer and science vessels they have multiple bridge officer specializations seats. Tactical ships have maybe one bridge officer specialization seat and its never geared towards TACTICAL abilities. With how hard ARC craps on tactical players its easy to see why there are next to none. Whats the point of bridge officer abilities if tactical players cant even use the top commander abilities and the normal abilities are junk look at beam overload it cant be used with beam target systems like shields or weapons which means tactical officers have 3 or 4 abilities that go completely unused not to mention beam overload doesn't even compare to gravity well or other top science or engineering abilities. As a tactical officer that spent hard earned money on ships that are garbage (yet they are the best tactical ships) i can not continue to pay for or play a game that spits in my face every time i board one of my $30.00 "tactical" ships as a tactical player you are better off buying science or engineering ships at least then you can use all the new fun abilities as of now ARC has clearly stated threw action that they don't care about the game play for a large portion of there paying customers how they can release multiple patches and vessels that leave an entire class on the side lines the new bridge officer abilities look fun but i will never know as tactical ships don't even have commander seats to find out.
