More broken stuff again...

Hello ..
Why do we get so much broken stuff again refering to the new consoles from the k13...
With the skilltree + the new consoles do i reach a base armor penetration of around 25%.
so if i add my pen weaps, a couple of traits and so on i can go up to 60%++.
We all remember with the release of delta rising how the broken pen trait of the delta reputation system (50% armor pen instead of 5%) messed up PvP and PvE a lot.. There are even a lot of videos about that on youtube..
Now you bring more and more stuff which let this broken trait looks like a joke..
I mean all that exotic dmg stacking where u can oneshot every player.. Now more and more disables, more and more powercreep..

If i go into a cca, it happens sometimes, that the round is over after 5-10 seconds... ISA.. done in a couple of more... and NOW there will be even more stuff which will unbalance this game???

There arent even real phys. Resistances and please dont tell me now that i can stack "allres".. yeah i know but resistances are capped while damage isnt even be thought of beeing capped somehow!

When will this stop?
When is the point reached where you will admit that everything is too unbalanced??

    I could go on for ages about the wrong physics of ship weaponry.....but I'd get carried away. Alas, if Cryptic 'rebalance' DPS and weapon physics (Cannons don't do the same same damage at 10k as Beams for god's sake! Cannons are short range weapons that deal more damage at close range!!) there will be out and out rioting!

    don't forget on contacts who standing on chair, that seems to get broken by every patch, and with next fix, and then again broken :pensive:

    But every new thing break something

    Do you actually understand the game mechanics or just looking to complain? These K13 consoles aren't that great. The armor pen you get will be very small in actuality. The PTR portion will probably give you a bigger bonus than the pen.

    It's hull penetration skill, that's not a very big increase in damage from what the console gives. If you use 4 of the K13 pen consoles, you are looking at about 1-3% increase in your dps. That is the same as 1 spire tactical console. So yeah, they aren't that great.

    I think you misscalculated there mate.. and i dont care about dps.. with out without these consoles, the isa ir whatever would be done within seconds...
    I talk about powercreeping and pvp and before u rage or shitstorm now.. there are still a lot of people playing pvp and even armadas have pvp events and private matches and so on..

    I am not sure where you get the 60% number from. There are different forms of increasing penetration and they work different.
    • Various skills that add a % based armor penetration. They apply their enhancement directly to the end or final value. When you hit the hull of a target that has let's say 50% damage resistance then this armor penetration will ignore the given % that you have. If you ask me this is the best armor penetration you can have because it translates directly into % armor penetration.
    • The [PEN] modifier on weapons ignores armor rating. It is good against weaker targets where armor rating scales very well. In other words, early in the rating. However, as it climbs there are diminishing returns. For example, let's say that each tenth from 10 to 50 gives exactly 10% damage resistance but anything beyond that requires double each time for each 10% increase (100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 rating etc.). If you strike a target when it has 50 rating and ignore 10 of that then you gain 10% damage resistance reduction (or 10% armor penetration). But if you strike a target with 400 rating then that same ignored 10 armor rating is gonna yield significantly less real armor penetration.
    • And finally you have the armor penetration gained from the skill tree called Hull Penetration. Here 1 skill rating translates directly to 0.1% armor penetration. A fully specced Hull Penetration node with 100 skill rating yields 10% armor penetration. The new K13 consoles that you speak off seem yield an increase of 30~ skill rating per console. It means you would need 3 of them to gain another 10% armor penetration. Now, there could very well be diminishing returns after 100 skill rating so the actual % yield could be significantly less once you start stacking the K13 consoles.

    I understand your frustration with armor penetration but it is good to know that it only works against hull. ISA and CCA may be interesting to use as a test bed but it is important to note that you attack one or several shield-less targets in those queues.
