Disabling other crafts - switch target?

I'm a newbie for the game on the PS4 so bear with me.
Was playing the episode with the comet and you all know that you have to disable the other crafts. I'm wondering is there a button or combo that allows you to switch between targets after you disable one of them. It seems to be locked on that one target until you're out of range of it. And flying at impulse power with three or more other crafts firing on you takes forever and ends up with a destroyed craft.
Still learning about the game as I go along.
