Are we not getting the lighting update on PC?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
I have not seen anything from cryptic regarding the lighting graphics update on PC, they seem to only talk about the graphics update on consoles. Are we just not getting it because it is taking forever. I find it odd that the PC version looks so crappy while the consoles look shiny and new.

    It's on Tribble and a work in progress.
    Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

    The lighting updates are currently on Tribble (the test PC shard) and will be coming to Holodeck (the live PC shard) soon.

    then you aren't trying to find anything.... they repeatedly said it would come to PC when they first announced it, and in subsequent blogs and have even done weekly before and after images. Plus there have been at least 2 threads in these forums raging about it.

    The announcements said PC would get it "after" consoles....not "immediately after".

    You'll get it eventually.

    And why so many Qs on the forums about this? It's not that big a deal.

    It's called 'perceived entitlement' and 'inability to read up for themselves' my friend. This is what we get for our 'nanny' states.

    I never ever tell my friends how to play the game. If they can't find out for themselves, then they are useless in battle....lol.

    God some of your replies are so stupid and snobby. Why is it that so many people think it is so cool to be condescending? Thank you to those that answered the question without sounding like you have your head up your TRIBBLE. And for those that decided to be snobs, the reason why so many people are confused is because they keep mentioning it for consoles on their social media yet only mention it for PC on a very tiny specific thread. Go to the main page and all you will read is "we are bringing new lighting updates to XboxOne and PS4" it doesn't say anything about it on the Main page for PC only in a small thread that isn't easy to find. And yes, it is a big deal because people have been asking for it for ages because the game looks outdated. I made a valid point because part of the subs money is to help console development. I should be able to say that I would also like the update seeing how I am subbing. Sheesh. This is why people talk negative about MMO communities now days. Instead of just answering a simple question there has to be jackasses that make everyone else look bad. And I hope that those snobby replies weren't from full grown adults because that would be sad. Leave the snobby comments to the 12 year olds not the adults please. Good day to you all and Engage! =)

    protip... actually READ the news blogs... they tend to have info.

    oh and sometimes you have to actually read ALL of them because they put info at the bottom too.

    The lighting changes for PC on Tribble need A LOT of work. It adds so much ambient light to most maps that you have the floor on most maps reflecting light up (IE there are areas where the ground itself acts like a light source.) I'm in no rush to be blinded because the STO Devs aren't given time to properly tune these changes. I'd rather they take the time needed so the game doesn't devolve to Epilepsy On-Line myself.

    Might be why no update has been released for nearly a month,they're probably doing as lot of work on it.

    Yeah; i am a bit surprised that they still not have had a new Tribble update... Encountering some unexpected issues?

    I'd rather have it done right and wait a while. The reason the console version is half finished and glitchy is because of the whiners that want everything yesterday. This is why some studios like Bethesda refuse to even announce the existence of a game or DLC until it is about to launch. People are such whiny entitled children.
    Nothing breaks the tension better than a tankard of warnog - except maybe a good brawl...

    By "not heard anything from Cryptic" I assume you mean "I can't be arsed to read the test server patchnotes or boards."

    And your definition of "forever" is kinda... childish.
