Reading the console advertisement and then this..
The challenge of PVP combat awaits you as well. Test your mettle against other starship captains in a number of tactical battle engagements throughout the galaxy.
Dear cryptic/pwe..
Better remove that pvp statement because you will disappoint a lot of players if its the same as on PC..
Or maybe it wakes some hopes for a PvP Revamp?
We will see..

Meh, I want to PvP again now...
Boy was i in for a shock... virtually half the ships were spinning around at uber fast speeds and just essentially one shotting anyone else themselves not whizzing around. Everytime i tried to attack another ship it would just continue spiralling around with "immune" popping up then i get splatted in less than a second.
What happened to all the cruisers and stuff? i dont think i saw anyone other than me flying one. Even in the ye olde days of yore i don't remember the "TTK" being so uber fast.
After the battle ended (in a very quick time) i honestly thought to myself "Well that's pointless, i'm not ever playing that again.."
Which is a shame, because STO pvp used to be great fun.
Cryptic has done the entire player base a disservice by neglecting an essential part of end game. However, at this point it might be better if they leave it alone given the leadership's obvious contempt and ineptitude regarding pvp.
I had one decent game in a few dozen in pvp. And by decent I mean the teams were within 2 kills. That was actually my friend and I vs 3 other players. We used tactics to isolate/shred/leave. But that was the only close game I had and one that left me feeling any sort of accomplishment.
The queue is usually the same pool of players. I can tell a "fresh 50" is in the match by watching them melt. An experiwnce like that will always kill a pvp system. You need to have skill/item score based matching.
But reading a dozen threads of why (with very logical and poignant examples) the pvp is nothing but a "feature" and not a community draw.
