Star Trek PS4/chat

I know this might be asking for trouble but here goes...

I started playing this yesterday and since that time I have watched scores of players asking for help and myself included. Whst do we get instead? A pack of trolls infiltrating the entire zone chat just to make us miserable. I can only presume they are minors with unfettered access to the internet. Most rational adults will not treat others this way. Today in the zone chat it was one constant vulgar innuendo after another. Some of us were actually trying to hold a conversation about the game and ask one another questions.

    sadly... welcome to STO zone chat.. :/ Major social hubs like ESD(earth space dock) are worse and add trade spam

    Yeah, the PC version is mostly the same. They're not really trolls, they're just the usual idiots you see in every MMO. I'd recommend you team up if you want to talk to someone without the spam. There should be a way to filter out zone chat and just see team or local chat. Or at least, I hope they carried over that feature from PC - it dramatically enhances the playing experience.

    Yeah I used to play on pc anout two or three years ago. The trolls drove me off. The community is what made me quit wow and dcuo. It's new on PS4 so they have a chance right now to curb the behavior.

    They won't - it'll require having active in-game moderators, and this is not cheap.

    Ive seen the same slso.

    But that inbetween the gold spam thats now starting up on tne ps4 so was pretty easy to ignore tnem kids

    It doesn't suprise me sadly. It's the trademark of any MMO. Some MMO's that have RP servers are better about it but in this case it is what it is sadly. Just hang tight, buckle in, and enjoy the ride.

    Oh I'm trying. I'll probably emd and turn all channels off if it doesn't start getting better.
