Aiming on XBox One

Greetings, hoping to find out if there is a way to free aim when doing away missions. The snap feature is awful. I've tried all kinds of buttons and every now and then I can free aim so it's built into the software. Any help greatly appreciated.

    I don't think there is, ground combat has always been frustrating in sto, so I guess we should just strap in and hold on to your bloodwine

    I just fire with the right trigger, and aim with the stick, like a third person shooter. I'm actually enjoying it compared to the point and click PC combat, seems more fast paced to me on console.
