50 years Star Trek anniversary

50 years Star Trek anniversary. And no special event? Or did I miss something?

There's already a thread for this.

But to answer your question: no you didn't miss anything.

If something special is done, it will likely be announced approximately 4.5 hours from now. If nothing is done, it is because there's already an on-going celebration, including the AoY expansion and the release of some special ship. And we know that more stuff will be added, or which the Kelvin uniform was just the first item.

    Welcome to the Forum btw.

It would be a fail of epic proportions if Cryptic lets this one slide, considering its the most important anniversary in the Star Trek history. Especially since they dole out little freebies for lesser events like First Contact Day and Star Trek Beyond.

Free is good. I'll happily accept free anything, spec points, inventory slots, ship/dry dock slots, super powered universal tech upgrades, anything.

    LTS and loving it.

There is already a thread about this? You mean the one thats 200+ posts long? If you expect someone to wade through all those meanderings your sadly mistaken.

Your reward is the surprise. The surprise that they are doing nothing but the same business as usual. So.... SURPRISE!!!!! 50 year anniversary and NOTHING IS going on.

FYI, packs releasing is not an event, they do it all the time it is business as usual. The Aoy event is over and past. And new ships are released all the time, nothing new there either. Same goes for the Mirror Invasion event, they do that once a year too, nothing special denoting an anniversary of the franchise this game is based on and would not exist without.

    SURPRISE!!!!

They most likely just say the R&D promotion was it.

Worse - The Console launch was their (and our) 'celebration'.

Epic Fail Cryptic. Not really surprised though. At least the fans care, even if those making money off it don't.
    Anyway... Happy 50th Star Trek

Y4eah, I'm really not someone who was expecting anything big - but you'd think they'd acknowledge in a blog post or something that today back in 1966 - the first episode of Star Trek was publicly aired on NBC in 1966. CBS/Paramount have a graphic and everything. ;)

I need no more lessons. There should be R&D/Lockbox Anonymous group.. But I bet it would cost you some Zen, lmao...
    Positive thoughts.

With all the snide, histrionic hyperbole surrounding it today, if I were the devs I'd be inclined to back out any goodies they might have planned.

Forget any planned goodies/giveaways I'm more disappointed that there appears to be no acknowledgement from Cryptic on any social media about what a special day for Star Trek it is

We was never promised anything (sure would of been nice) , but its the radio silence or not even a happy 50th birthday post / blog that gets me, or anything from any one "official".

Right? They could at least release a staff picture wishing a happy anniversary. Even NASA released a video honouring 50 years of Star Trek.

Well.. they might still surprise us.

Give it 30 minutes from the time of this post before complaining that they've done nothing to mark the day as it's usually 5pm GMT for Events to start.

Always the way with these types of things. Same with issues with video games in general. These companies have forums, have twitter ect but never say a damn thing, which from my experience is what annoys people the most. Yes its still early in the day over there, but experience generally says once the day starts quiet, it stays that way.

Same thing has been happening for the people who cant download the console versions yet, a simple announcement of a release day wouldve calmed the masses but nothing gets said so it gets rabid.

but the eternal cup half full in me says they'll have something thrown up before close of play

Whilst I guess some hope of some form of acknowledgement from The Powers That Be exists, I have to say to ignore the significance of today would be a failure of biblical proportions.

Shall we bring back the "Doooommm" thread? I miss it already.

Console players aren't missing much. I have been disconnected twice while trying to create a character. I've given up on it for now.

They did make a statement on when it's coming to specific regions. I'm surprised all these complainers aren't Googling it, like they do with everything else......or is the state of education really that bad!? Oh, sorry I forgot...it requires effort to search and read...so they expend the same effort raging about it! lol.
