Waiting sucks... I gotta go to work for 9hrs tomorrow, just so I can pay something called a "mortgage" and buy something called "food"...ugh...

Oh well, at least I'll have a few extra hours to decide in what order of factions I want to play the game. I really want to play as Romulan, but I feel like playing through the Feds and Klingons, first, will give me time to figure-out the mechanics and the storylines for both to determine whom to side with as a Romulan.

It looks like maneuvering is pretty responsive for the consoles, based on both videos. I didn't really watch the whole thing of either one--did it look like the auto-activation of powers is working seamlessly, or did they even demonstrate it?

Yeah, I've got a long work day tomorrow as well. But if things are like they often are for the PS4, they usually do not update the PlayStation Store until the afternoon or sometimes even later at night, so we might not miss out on much. The amount of time that it usually takes for me to download a whole game would mean that I would need to wait until tomorrow anyway, so hopefully I can start the download and go to sleep and have it ready to play after work on Wednesday.

The second video on the X-Box by the Bros with Fros previewer had him set up all of the auto-activation stuff, and it indeed did look like it all worked quite well.

They stated in one of their news items that the consoles will get a free gift for their Federation characters - PS4 will get an Andorian Light Escort and Xbox will get a Steamrunner.

Since apparently it won't launch with Agents of Yesterday, I might just make a Fed toon to get the launch gift, and then make and focus on a Romulan until AoY arrives on the consoles since you have to make a new character for that anyway and I love TOS.

I just watched a video with a reviewer that has early access for this weekend. He stated a few times that the information he was given from Cryptic was that the release was on the 6th in the US and the 7th in Europe.
...so they want to start everyone off with a fresh account at the same time, so they leave a whole day between release? Knowing what can be accomplished in 24hrs, doesn't quite seem fair.

I'm 51 and play on console, demographically the majority of console players are adults.
You have not played Call of Duty with the many, many, many children also playing the game on the headsets. #soooooooooannoying

Knowing how much progress I made on my PC account, and how much Cryptic (naturally) favour the Federation, and the fact that I'll only casually be playing this time round, I'll be cloning my main Federation character and running only with him. No interest in creating a bunch of characters this time round; too much grind.

Ok, watching the Bros With Fros video, the game must be comming out, at the very least, in the next week. At 2:35 in he goes into a menu and on the left is a News and Events panel which is advertising what is surely going to be the games first event, A Dilithium Weekend and is running from September 15th to 19th. So it must be launching ahead of that date to give the player base time to familiarise themselves with the game before the event starts!.

I live in the US so waiting on the PSN store to update on tuesday for a game to come out is normal to me. For you all in the UK, is tuesday the psn store update day or is it wednesday? Just wondering if that is the reason for the staggered release.

It's usually Tuesday for UK players. Whenever there's been an update for COD or GTA, it's always been on a Tuesday.

Only so much time in a day, I feel like sleeping all day until It comes out but I am worried that It won't come out this week but If it does then I will be one of the first people to login, I just hope that everything is balanced and I can start focusing my time on a certain weapon type, The first people who played STO before everyone else will have a slight advantage over those who play a day later especially the ones who never played STO before.

Surely with the amount of people reporting that it was going to be released. It would be. It just seem's odd that there's a complete silence behind it

Honestly, you might as well get some sleep when you normally would.

This console launch is quite likely going to present similar conditions to a new season launch; slow load time, slow servers, and bug infestation. There's no way the game is going to run smoothly in it's first week. If it does I'll be amazed, but the game hasn't had a single season yet that's ran smoothly. I don't see this console release being any different.

Anyone seen anything new on today's potential release? Seems odd it being this close and no announcement.

It's odd that this console release hasn't been better advertised in general. There's been a handful of articles on the port, and I mean a handful. I can count on one hand the number I've read and been aware of. Not exactly good advertising or publication.

Maybe it's one big early (or late) April Fools?

Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

September 9th for EU make sense, doesn't EU always get their games on thursday anyway?

I wouldnt be surprised if the North American version were to launch on september 12th though.

Thing is i just listened to the P1 pod cast and they replayed the part from the panel where they did say Tuesday the 6th. I just wish they would post something official.

I don't necessarily know about games, but I'm pretty sure DLC was always Tuesday.

Been a while since I bought a hard copy of a game, but it used to be either Tuesday or Friday for a game release

Got a release date of 9th september on PS4 in the Eu for it from this blog post https://blog.it.playstation.com/2016/09/06/nuovi-su-playstation-store-the-tomorrow-children-star-trek-online-e-molto-altro/?doing_wp_cron=1473165415.1829590797424316406250

If you are logged in on the ps store you may get an error since you are in a different region. it was 12:01 am on the 7th their time when it showed up.

Europe is sort of weird when it comes to game releases, I think it's Wednesday for France,Thursday for most of the EU and Friday for the UK and Ireland..........yeah talk about confusing (and not to mention EA games coming out on Thursdays in Europe)

thanks for clearing that up for me! im keeping an eye out for an NA release atm, pretty sure that the game is on psn store, but locked behind a timer so you cant access it right now. Maybe once psn update at 8am PT we'll get the game too.

I know that STO will have three game servers (PC, Xbox, PS4) but will the console versions share the same chat server as the PC (and furthermore pc Neverwinter) or will they have their own. Finally will the game share a zen server so the ships I've purchased will be useable on the console version.

It will mostly be up to the two console stores on when we can download. Most likely when each one does their updates today. With PSN it mostly likely wont be until 2pm EST before they even start.

PlayStation Store is updated, and yes it is there in the US store along side zen packs and the fed rom and kdf packs. About 17GB. Thank you, cyptic/pw for bringing STO to console.
