Pilot Maneuvers for Escorts

So since all Science ships get build in target-subsystem and Sensor Analysis. Cruisers get their Cruiser commands. Raiders got Flanking bonus.
So when can we suspect that all Escorts will get Pilot Maneuvers as build in special ability?

Pilot maneuvers are pretty restricted to "pilot" ships. look at them as a specialty brand..Only ships with Cmdr Pilot are granted the Built in abilities..So..You'll prolly start seeing more "Pilot" Escorts so just hang on.

Same as Cruiser Commands were once restricted to specific Cruisers, and Raider flanking was only for Breen. But now all Cruisers and Raiders classes have those as special ability. Escorts don't have any thing special in them now.

"They have +10 to defence" - Quoth someone when I brought up this subject back along.

I too would like to see all escorts get perhaps a lesser version of pilot manoeuvres so pilot escorts get immunity but the rest don't or something., sort of like how raider flanking is better than intel flanking, except with these you can't put the two together.

Yea but those are classes of ship right now both "Cruisers" and "Raiders.." "Pilot" is its own classification of Ships which is simply (at least now) those ships that allow a commander level Pilot ability those get the suite abilities too)...They could roll Pilot into Escort..but im not seeing it unless it has "Pilot" in the ship type..

I see you are talking about Pilot Spec BOff seats. I'm talking about ability to make "rolls" with a ship, which is built in ability for "Pilot" Escorts, and in my opinion should be all Escorts ability same as Crusier Comands, Flanking or Sensor Analysts

The pilot escorts are a special class of escort ship ship with special modifications that allow for maneuvers hat other escorts just aren't capable of. The analogy would be the modern day jet fighter. While all jet fighters are jet fighters, a very few specific ones have vectored thrust which allows them to make maneuvers that other jet fighters just aren't capable of. It is not just a matter of adding the thrust vectoring baffles, the entire air-frame is specifically designed for thrust vectoring as the stresses placed on the plane during those maneuvers are drastically different than a non thrust vector air frame.

While we might see more pilot escorts in the future, giving all escorts pilot maneuvers would be a violation of the physics of ship design. Not to mention that all those people who paid real money to get their pilot escorts would deserve a refund as the exact thing they paid good money for is now being given to everyone for free.

Although you didn't mention it, the same logic you used for making all escorts "pilot" escorts would then have to apply to making all heavy escorts into heavy escort carriers.....

Realism of design is not a point of discussion here.

If Pilot Maneuvers are so much unique only for Ajax, Icarus and Mercury than I ask again what unique ability have all other Escorts to compete with Raider Flanking, Cruisers Commands and Science Subsystem targeting and Sensor Analysts?

giving all escorts pilot maneuvers would be a violation of the physics of ship design. Not to mention that all those people who paid real money to get their pilot escorts would deserve a refund as the exact thing they paid good money for is now being given to everyone for free.

Again Cruisers Commands were at first given ability to only one Cruiser Class (ZEN paid), than given to all. Same with Flanking, first only Breen Ship had it, now all Raiders have it.

Well If They Make All Escorts "pilot Ships" then You'll Get Your wish(for pilot manuvers)..As it stands escorts are the only ships able to make effective use of Dhcs and that is due to their higher speed and manverability..something many other ships cant due without consoles (just to achieve visit escort functions)
