WoK Uniform Accessories Too Expensive

Does anyone else think that 1,275,000 dilithium is WAAAAAYYYYY too much for the Wrath of Khan uniform accessories--the engineers vest, and and the excursion jacket? Not to mention the 800,000 for the captain's vest. Cryptic if you are reading this, I would gladly pay 400 Zen for each--maybe even a little more. But say I'm starting from nothing and only being able to refine 8,000 dil a day, it would take basically a 160 days straight of just refining dil, not to mention the time to earn it in the first place--FOR A UNIFORM. These prices are way higher than anything else in the dil store or even the entire game. Please consider dropping the prices and adding them to the Zen store.

There should be some rule about posting 'in before the lock'.

These Threads could have aged out and then posting to them will get everyone to pile on about necromancy and the like. Cryptic's 30-day Rule is there to increase Forum Thread Metrics.

No point in agreeing about this as you would just encourage those that would then post that this was the fairest way in the universe to make a requested item available to the great unwashed masses but making it rare and valuable. And blah, blah, blah.

Thanks for showing your interest in the new outfits OP. I’m confident Cryptic will issue many more items to acquire in the Dil store that way.

Yes it's far too high. Cryptic have established faction uniforms are worth 550 Zen. They shouldn't be in the Dil store in the first place never mind for that price.

Man, I'd never pay that much dil for just an outfit. That's just crazy. I might consider spending that much dil on a ship, but only if it's a top-notch ship that's well and truly worth it.

How nice of people to bombard a new member to the forums with only 3 posts with snarky, contemptuous comments.

Yes it is way too expansive. But as others have pointed out using their usual charm, it was brought up several times already. Cryptic chose not to comment, at all. So the only sensible thing we can do is to ignore those items and hope that one day Cryptic is going to change those prices. I'm not keeping my hopes up though.

Yes, they are far too expensive. Appearantly it's Cryptic's pilot project to introduce a dilithium sink to the game, although I really wonder what they were thinking as it stands it doesn't really work as a sink aside for the few accounts who have maxed out dilithium AND have 16 alts or more and get the uniforms for every one of their alts. Those that do this are irrelevant for the larger picture anyway.

Almost like they AREN'T A DILITIUM SINK.

Its just a prestige item, to let the very wealthy look pretty and down their noses at the not so wealthy. Those that do this aren't irrelevant, they are the engine that keeps Cryptic in business.

This prestige item just happened to be priced in Dilithium rather than zeni.

Nah, it is OK for the role it is intended to fulfill (hint - it's different from C-Store items).

Incorrect. It is consistent with the prices of some of the lobi store items.
And I have strong suspicion that before they decided to redirect them in the dil store - they were meant for lobi store.

Yeah, I hate the price. I have WoK on my main and am making pretty good dil. Have a nice stockpile waiting to be refined, and I keep adding to it.

The problem is having to log in every goddamn day to refine my 8k.

It's not that the price is un-grindable high, it's that it's tied to a resource with a real world time cap so you can't really grind. And the only way around that is to make two or three alts and transfer, which just reduces the time to five or six months rather than a year. Assuming you can get the dil every day.
It makes the game work, and I'd much rather play. I used to play STO to avoid chores, now it is one...

I'm a newish player. Six months or so. And I never really stockpiled dil, spending it on other sinks prior (zen, rep parts, etc). I even stopped bothering refining and just let my dil pile for a while, since I never spent any. Now I find out I should have been piling that up and logging in every weekend... d'oh.

Like most people that posted in the other threads about this. I agree that the cost is too much.

Costs way more than lobi store character unlocked costume and zen store account unlocked costumes in terms of real money. And most of the dil costumes packs contain way less costume parts. (Only the maco got a good amount of costumes)

One time character bound purchase surpose to be a dil sink? No, its not a dil sink, no matter what some people say.
And what happens when those people get more dil again. Nothing to spend it on then. And they can't trade it for something else like EC if they don't want the costumes, or help others get the costumes.

Also lets not forget they are items that a lot of people have asked for a long time, which now are added but almost impossible for a lot of those people to get.
The Excursion Jacket and MACO uniform was leaked and confirmed long ago by the devs, and people hoped for them to finally get added.

    Its a silly joke.

They should lower the cost, and then give a discount on other items for people that already payed for the dil costumes. Like they did with the fleet costumes when they were deemed costing too much and lowered.

Gold plated Ferrari too expensive! I would gladly pay $500 for one*.

    * A real one, not a videogame one. Though I might pay 2 million dil for one in STO, if they first invent roads to drive it one.

You know what I'd pay a million Dil for? A ship. One of these or for this or, most esspecally, this.

Things that justify the grind. It's not really much different from grinding for the Zen ships or to buy a Lobi ship from the exchange.

For a costume, a faction uniform, that has counterparts already selling for Z250, it is pathetic.
It's not a sink if nobody want's to pay that price for a item that has already being priced massively lower by Cryptic.
