I'm probably poorer than most of the people complaining here. Yet I can obtain any of these ships I desire to, all it costs is time.
If you have the time and IF they are on the exchange sure anything is possible that is if you can get it off the exchange before they all go away and the time period ends to get it out of an R&D box. That said after opening many boxes in the past to no real gain before the offers expired good luck with that. I have a life outside of the game.

If you can't be bothered to use resources for this game, be it real money or real time, then you DO NOT GET THE SHINIES. I work some 60+ hours a week. I have friends that I meet with regularly. I am in charge of running organized play for a local store of mine. I STILL find enough time where I can scrounge up the needed resources for these ships should they hit the exchange. I play less then an hour on average per day. If you can not find the time to play even that amount, then just quit playing games at all. Seriously, I am sick and tired of these complaints. You have no money...fine...but you have TIME. If you don't have TIME, then you should not be playing games. If you can't be bothered to spend your time to collect up for the shinies in this game...which it lets you do pretty easily...then you should not get the shinies...period. Everytime I hear this BS about I have a real life as an excuse, all that tells me is that you are LAZY and just want your shinies for free.
...a Ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. PERIOD...
Where does this "PERIOD" come from? Where's your documentation? Nothing is set in stone.

I guess that the meaning of the statment "A ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. Period" is beyond your grasp.
What's your evidence beyond your opinion to back that statement up? Or is the concept of providing evidence (documentation) beyond your grasp?

Wow you don't understand that at all do you?
As expected, you have nothing that backs up your emotional opinion. Well I actually do have something to back up my statements besides my "feelings." Faction ships aren't required to be in the C-Store. There is no "by all rights."

The Temporal Science Vessels are lock box ships. The Temporal destroyers are Lobi ships. The Kelvin Timeline ships are lock box ships. And the Vengeance is a Lobi ship. The upcoming TOS promo ships are also not in the C-Store. See a pattern here? Not all faction ships are in the C-Store. PERIOD.

Again you cannot comprehend the entire thread not only what I have said but others as well. You also cannot grasp that in threads people post opinions not just "facts" . The door is over there please use it. ---->
Your opinion was worded as a statement of fact. Facts need to be backed up by evidence. You could say "I wish that it was a C-Store ship" but you didn't say that. You said it "should be a C-store ship by all rights PERIOD." That's not an opinion. That's an assertion. One that isn't backed up by any facts or evidence. To think that you're using words like "comprehend" when don't have a clue as to what you're saying.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Ship is too old to be T6. And too small to carry the proper firepower to be T6. And CBS said no.

And an Excelsior went toe to toe with the Defiant. And the Connie was all but retired. And there was an FCT. And CBS said no. And it was official. And the ship is way too old. And this makes no sense. Why would Cryptic do this? They said CBS said no. And we know the ship is so old that it is nothing more than a museum piece. This flies in the face of all logic established by Geko and the game and the ship tier system and the ship is too old and CBS said no and it's old and said no and old and no and old, no, old, no, no no no, old, no, too old ...

(whew) ... I had to get that off my chest.
    Ever consider ...

I'll let you in on the joke because your post was earnest and heartfelt.

I'm one of the original "Hey I'd like an endgame Constitution Class Enterprise to fly please" people. And I've endured 6 years of forum flack for it.

I'm going to enjoy shoving the "breaks immersion" and "it's too old" nonsense right back at people. Sorry if you get caught in the crossfire. But I've earned this one!

Seriously, if people don't get that you are sarcastic about that whole business, they really need to get out of their mother's basement and meet people. Even without the whole knowing your past postings...I knew right away you were being silly.

Thank you! I really am being as silly as I can be about all of this.

People wanted a T6 Connie. Cryptic releases one. And everyone complains... there is just no pleasing people I guess
They're complaining about HOW it's *obtained*....

I can understand that but you can always get it off the exchange, just like any other ship that comes in a box. It's just that it seems like every time cryptic does something, someone has to get up in arms and complain. No one is forcing you to buy this. Also Im just going to say this but there is a T6 Connie

The difference is they violated their own rules, they set for themselves to the community, without even a word of why. I know a lot of people complain over dumb things but this is a consumer trust and breaking a promise that they would not put prime universe faction specific ships into a gambling box.
CBS wants the T6 TOS ships to be rare. it's been said over and over again that CBS was resistant to allowing the a high level TOS constitution in the game because the ship would be - and should be - rare in the 25th century. This was the compromise that allowed Cryptic to release the ship.

You don't have to gamble on it, you can wait and pay for it on the exchange. Sure, it's going to be very expensive, but you pay for rarity. That's just reality.

Be thankful that they finally wore CBS down and are allowed to release it at all.
Again speculation. No proof other then the absence of proof.

I honestly don't remember when they made this rule. Or are you referring to before F2P, cause things change
After f2p, In one of the interview with I believe geko, he said all lockbox/gambling ships would be ships that would not be the prime universe faction specific at the time kdf or fed ships. That also they wouldn't be doing Romulan lockbox ships because they did plan on adding Romulans to the game in the future, as well as why they regret adding the galor.

But now that rule is out the door who's to say they don't put older promo ships like bug ship etc to the c-store.

CBS Said NO T6 Connie. Yet this is a T6 Connie (one of two different kinds) ... And you guys are going to parse the whole "Faction ships in a promotion" rule?

    Really?

I'd say that whatever rules you think were once set regarding ship promotions and what not, are probably not as set in stone as they ever seemed.
pretty much I would not be surprised if they end up putting these ships in the anniversary event as well after the promo ends. If one rule is not set in stone none of them are.

I can see this as Cryptic/PWE killing 2 birds with one stone.

On one hand you have all the people clamoring for a T6 Connie (toss) Taken care of.

On the other hand, you have the rest of the player base that has been screaming about exclusivity in aquiring a certain ship. (Toss) Done.

I'm not overly enthusiastic about the way it is being implemented (I have a metric crapload of R&D packs in my bank that I have been waiting for an event to open) However, this does give the majority of the vocal community what they wanted. A ship that has long been pined over, AND the opportunity for everyone to get it. It will be expensive, it will be rare, but it will be there.

Who knows, maybe this is a "trial run" to show CBS that this can, and will be a moneymaker. A bargaining chip if you will for further negotiations and further rights sharing to the Trek we all know and love. Who knows?

This is a good quote to keep in mind. Things always change. the first JHAS was a winter event ship. Now the T6 version is a promo ship. The first Galaxy-X was a referral ship I think. Things change. Nothing is set in stone.

It would also keep it out of the hands of the farmers who have invaded the game selling items off site. But I guess that is beyond your grasp fwad.

Yeah the quote got fubared because YOU started off a chain messed up. I did not bother to fix your mistake.

A ship that they said they can't be release AT ALL should have been a c-store ship?!? In WHAT UNIVERSE does that make sense? I don't give a rat's **** what YOU would do and neither does cryptic. What matters is what the masses will do...and the masses will do what they will...regardless of what you do. You are an insignificant ant...deal with it, you tiny tiny man. As far as the farmers are concerned...this game has WAY less of an issue with that then most other F2P MMO. If you think this game is invaded, you are sadly mistaken. This game is just too damn easy for the farmer to invade en mass. You can make 100 million EC in hours without the risk to your credit cards or identity being stolen. You would have to be a special kind of idiot to buy from one of those sites. Besides which, that is an issue with cryptic to deal with...not YOU. YOU DO NOT GET TO MAKE THAT CHOICE. It's their buisness, not yours. If you buy them out, then sure, by all means, make everything a c-store ship and see how long you can keep the doors open. And because I don't agree with you, I am a fawd...yeah...way to show off how smart you are. You are a tiny man with a tiny mind. Wanna play the insult game? I'm game...but I am warning you, with your level of wit that you have shown so far, you are not going to come out looking very good.
I feel bad for you I really and honestly do. So sad there are folks like you who feel the need to try and bring everyone down to your level. It really must be hard living at the bottom of the rungs of society always grasping at the dust motes that you think are riches. Dust motes that are the dandruff of the world, the dross cast aside by the world winnowing out the chaff. Sad really that you savior dandruff and dross with the full flavor of life forever above your reach. Never realizing you are the chaff cast aside. I pity you I really do that dust and ashes of the world are all you know and have made you small bitter and beyond my contempt but has left you standing in a tiny ever so small pool of pale waning light that is my pity.

I love how basically not a single person gives 2 **** about the t'liss and d7..... KDF/RR finally get a temporal ship of their own but... TROLOLOL nope you gotta gamble for it
Actually I can't wait to get the D7 on day one.

D7 would have been my first pick, I got my fed and rom ship, they are keepers. Klingons, most of their T6 ships look like someone forgotten what a Klingon ship should look like. Im old school I guess.

    Positive thoughts.

I've backpedaled a little bit since the news broke. I still want the D7 but I mainly want it for the K'tinga look and I'm assuming that the K'tinga skin won't look too great since it's probably not getting an update. I'll have to open it on tribble first and decide whether or not to keep it based on how the different skins look.

As I said in another Thread 'This is applauded by those that have Billions of EC and buy and sell this stuff routinely. This and the Kelvin Lockbox has been a Godsend to them after the wind was taken out of their 'sales' (sic) by the Infinity Lockbox regardless of their populist protestations.'

cryptic tends to always update the model and textures of ships they're either getting ready to release in a playable form (like already-existing NPC ships such as the breen ones) or which are getting a new tier and can use lower tier skins (like pretty much every T6 ship released that had a T5 or lower counterpart)

I hope so but I'm specifically looking for the greenish K'tinga skin over the default D7 look. The secondary skins tend to not get updated. See the Venture etc. skins for the Galaxy.

This ship won't even be on the exchange for more than a few seconds. They will be bought up by the billionaires and held for 1.5 billion on the trading channel and gold sellers online.

About the whole "The Connie's too old and breaks immersion" thing, I came up with an in-universe explanation for that in my own head-canon by having Starfleet keep a few old Connies around as training vessels for Academy cadets and as museum ships. Basically a Star Trek version of the US Navy's USS Constitution (aka "Old Ironsides"), which is a late 18th century wooden sailing ship still in active service in the US Navy as a museum ship.

Problem with the Uss constitution analogy is that is a museum piece that will never be a ship of the line again and never see active combat again.

Well, I dealt with that by simply having the TOS Connie not be a ship of the line and not being used for combat anymore either. Essentially it's used a basic trainer for cadets to learn the fundamentals of starship operation (again, that's just my own little in-universe head-canon explanation). Of course people will still use them in the game, just like they use all kinds of non-Federation ships that you can see parked outside ESD on any given day.

@Salazrraze no bad info. I am aware they won't get the promo pack, which is why I'm not too happy about it. But it is what it is, I was buying the packs and holding them for a bonus weekend. I guess I'll still get what I was going to before, I was excited for a second before I read the release that my hoarding might have a small upside. Huh. Whattyaknow? The Mrs. was right, my packrattiness does me no good xD

There's really no need for an explanation. One has already been provided. Like the other TOS era ships, it's classified as a "Temporal" ship.

^ I know; I came up with that explanation years ago, long before any of this temporal stuff started happening. Having it being classified as a "temporal ship" works for me tho.

Also I didn't need to bring you down to my level...I have to crawl down to yours. Your level of intellect is severly wanting. Try harder. Attempting to hide your lack of wit and intellect behind meaningless flowery prose won't work here...although I will grant you it is a better attempt that using fwad. Still...quite pathetic.

Reality is they haven't really they have released a R&D pack with a chance (who knows what the odds are and how many they plan to have ultimatley for folks to get) to get a Ship that by all rights should have been a C-store item. PERIOD. As I stated in the opening I gladly would drop a large chunk of cash for C-store TOS T-6 Constitution as that would insure one got what they want instead of the odds are far more common Lobi.

This edit is a better attempt...but really, other then adding some flowery prose, your insult basically amounts to I know you are but what am I. So you have graduated from a single brain cell to a kindergardener. Congradulations.

Sadly you know nothing and cannot grasp that you know nothing and are nothing. You are but the dross of the universe a fly speck on the hindquarters of the world. A mere fizzle in the darkness quickly forgotten and remembered by no one.

^ Similar for me here too; I mean, I'm just happy they're even releasing the T6 TOS Connie at all, but still... Had they made it available on the C-Store, I would've bought it.
