Back after a long while, and with questions:

Before all: I'm a life time member.
When I left, I had access to all ships, now I need to purchase them, apparently, but as a LTM, is this normal?

Otherwise, I think a lot has changed since the Delta Warrior time, what are the most important changes?

Thank you aforehand.
Baron Crom.

What do you mean, you had access to all of them? No LTS had access to all the ships. Yes, they get a T5 (upgradeable with a token) and a T6 ship, but any others had to be purchased from their respective stores or the exchange.

No one has access to all ships, just the freebies that you earn from leveling up or buying from the lobi/exchange/c-store or dilithium store.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

    I am a Life Timer.
And, from what I remember, afore, i had none to purchase...
    Hence my question.

EDIT: Ah, wait, I somewhat misinterpreted your post: so we did not had access to all ships?
Odd, I just "took"a Dyson without any payment or whatever back then?
I cannot believe that was just a glitch...?

I don't know what you mean, you had none to purchase. I know we got a ship for every ten levels up to 40, but no one, LTS or FTP, had access to every ship without having to buy them.

Cryptic would have gone out of business long ago if that had been the case.
Now a LTS and loving it.

The most significant change has been the Captain Skill system.

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Skill

There is also the Admiralty System that was introduced this year.

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Admiralty_System

Since Delta Rising (DR) was released there has been numerous tweaks to balance the game. When DR was initially release a lot of things it introduced pretty much made the game very difficult and also unbearable for may players. I suppose that was one of the down side of increasing the level cap from 50 to 60.

A significant quality of life change has to do with Event Ships (Anniversary, Risa Summer, Winter Wonderland). Prior to the 2015 Risa Summer Event, if you wanted to obtain the Event Ship for each of your captains, then all of your captains must participate in the event to get the required vouchers to claim the Event Ship.

As of the 2015 Risa Summer Event only one captain needs to do the event for the Event Ship. Once any of your captains claim the Event Ship it becomes available account wide for all your captains to claim. This applies to Event Ships obtained from previous events. For example, I started playing STO right before the 2014 Anniversary Event. At that point I only had a Fed captain and a KDF captain. My Fed captain was able to do the daily event mission to acquire the 1,000 vouchers necessary to claim the Dyson Science Destroyer. However, I created the KDF captain too late into the 2014 Anniversary Event to be able to obtain the required 1,000 vouchers to claim the Dyson Science Destroyer. Therefore, only my Fed captain had that ship.

When Cryptic changed the Event Ship policy to account wide back in the summer of 2015, all 9 of my captains were able to claim the Dyson Science Destroyer.

@jaguarskx why thank you very much, sir.
The Dyson, a nice ship, but... it started out with a TON of issues (BOff troubles), hope they got that fixed.
The Solanae Dyson Science Destroyer is a nice looking vessel, alright!

What immediately caught my eye was the missing of my Delta Rising Badge on ALL characters!!!
Infuriating, since this was a permanent Badge that would set us apart from other people.
Personally, i loved this event, I deleted ALL characters, to make them Delta's.
And then this is nowhere to be found anymore...
    Saddening.

What precisely made thing "unbearable" for other players?

Hm, there never was any badge for either the Delta Recruitment event or even the current Temporal Recruitment one. Same with the packs, there were only exclusive TITLES and you'd have a "delta" or "TOS" symbol in front of your name to differentiate the characters.

Well, it does still show up on the character selecton screen at least. But sometimes you have to click on each character to make the symbol show up. Both for Deltas and Temporals. But I know thats not quite the same as it showing up in-game.

    It did before.
I remember fleets of people with the triangle in front of their name in space (and planets).

Thats what I meant, it used to show up in-game but now it only shows up on the character selection screen; which imho is too bad because I always liked them. :) I believe they disapeared when the event ended and the special "Delta Trait" went away, so I would assume the gold "Temporal" symbol will sadly go away when this event ends too. But we will always have the login screen to remind us I guess. o:)

The OP probably quit before the Tier 5 introduction... at least that's what I gleaned from the "didn't have to buy ships" piece.
It's not you- it's me. I just need my space.

Being critical doesn't take skill. Being constructively critical- which is providing alternative solutions or suggestions to a demonstrated problem, however, does.

I am assuming you are referring to the Delta Recruit event where your Delta Recruit captains will have a little delta icon. I chalk it up to one of the too many to list graphics / animation issues caused by the release of the Agents of Yesterday Expansion which tweak a lot the graphics / animations on the back end. I think it will take a few months to sort out. On top of that Cryptic will be updating the graphic in STO... more specifically the light effects. I think those effects will go live when the console versions of STO is released this Fall.

As for things that DR caused the game to be unbearable a couple of them were...

    - End game STFs (reputation missions) were insanely difficult
    - For level 50 captains that already completed story missions leading up to DR, there were not enough story missions to advance to level 60 so they must replay story missions or do whatever else to gain enough XP to do the next mission. For example, let's say the 5th mission the DR campaign requires you to be at least level 55 to play, but the next mission (#6) may require you to be level 57 before you can start it.

I'm sure there were many others, but I do not recall. Plus after the 2015 Summer Event, I took a break until the 2015 Winter Wonderland event.

One thing I missed during my time away from STO was a charity event. Chase Masterson (who plays Leeta) runs a anti-bully organization and there was a charity event to raise awareness of bullying both online and IRL (in real life). STO players who donated something like $20 to the charity event received a Mirror Universe Guardian Cruiser with a slightly different Boff seating compared to the C-Store version and of course a Mirror Universe paint scheme.

nope, that icon went away last year sometime, long before aoy. I remember because it annoyed me too. I think the others are right, it was just part of the event for some reason.

I want mine back, like most of you do.
It was said to be a permanent icon, and thus, I want them to keep their word.
