i hate it as well. i fully grinded the delta one, but dont think i will play ALL episode missions AGAIN. its mad. I played those like 10 times or more each now, its enough. but this is endgame content - replaying old content again and again and again. I dont think they have the ressources anymore to make more than a few new missions each year. they rather focus on ships and new lockboxes, because they bring tons of money. so we will have to replay those missions every year now.
well... your input was duly noted and... disagreed with.
Yes I knew some would find what I said wrong in their eyes.Just really ironic that their solution is "Stop Playing". Trying to convey that these replay events will eventually drive people away.
I've always preferred playing the lower level missions anyway, so I have to disagree with this one.

10+ per year seems like more than a few to me. You could also always try the foundry.
Or play something else for awhile and come back later. Nothing says you have to play STO daily.
Well, some people can be happy with 10% new content and 90% replay.Telling me not to play it if I don't like it might sound justified in your mind.Just remember that is the opposite of what PWE wants me to do.This was all designed to get us to add X amount of hours in playtime. You go from logging on an hour a day to do administrative maintenance on your character(s),to replaying several episodes a day taking maybe an extra hour or more. Now If I just had not made an AOY character and just played the new episodes on my main character. It would have occupied me for two or three days for said episodes, then back to the routine.
You really seemed to have missed the entire point of these events. They're not for you. They're not for the current player base. The entire purpose is to get new players into the game. i.e. "Recruitment" event. And they throw in some things that are benefits for the current player base but again, they're not designed for us. They're designed for new players in order to make it easier for them to "close the gap" between them and the older players. I really can't even believe anyone would want Cryptic to not do that sort of thing.
My AoY toon is level 60, working on rank 5 on all of her Reputation (excluding temporal)... As far as episodes go... just over half way through Delta...

I quite like the Event - mostly for rewards. But it also means that for once I Play Federation which is a nice Change as well.
KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
TOS: 1 tac
all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
highest DPS: 60.982
