What have you done to the board race?

I know people complained about the Risa board race before, but since the buff on speed boosts the race has become pretty much impossible. I frequently jump so far that MY BOARD GETS DEACTIVATED for not having contact with water for too long. Seriously, what the Grethor? The insanely far jumps can also easily kick you out of the race track - hooray, you are disqualified! It's hard to even finish and get 2 tags now.

    Yesterday, I could not interact with any of the finnish flags. I thought I must have outjumped the track or something, but when I put on my floater I got disqualified. How is that possible? Getting actual disqualified twice in the same race. Once you're out, you're out, eh?

    OP's problem is getting too much boosts. You must pick your jumps. The mechanic brings in skill. I think it isn't a bad thing. It is like taking to fast corners in a speed race. You might fall and loose.

    Without a doubt the worst part of the race is not giving the speed boosts to the leader. It basically punishes you for being better!

    I myself haven't been able to complete a race in about 3 days, the boosts just throw me too far. I make a turn, hit the boost, and suddenly am way past the track edge and disqualified for leaving the track. I guess they thought farming monkeys for marks was too easy.

    And before someone says it, yes I try to not hit the ramps, or the visible boosts too. But somehow still get them.​​

    You can't just use every jump and boost you see, you have to plan your jumps.

    They fixed it...
    Now it requires...cough...cough...skill to win.
    you can skip most jumps by going around them.

    here is the real problem, folks with high end boards
    want them to be the "I win" button.
    Now they have to earn it....have fun

    You didn't trigger the final checkpoint in the race. Happened to me once. I wound up going way out to the right around that turn and barely managed to stop in time before getting disqualified because the stupid speed boost threw me off the track. I got to the finish line and couldn't grab second place flag, or third place. I looked at the mission list on the right side of the screen and it said to reach gate 5, so I had to backtrack to trigger the final checkpoint then go back to the finish line to claim a flag before time ran out. I got third place since there was only 3 of us and I came in last.

    There have also been at least a couple times those speed boosts made me lose control and I wound up being thrown off the track out of bounds. Even when letting go of they keys and not doing anything I still slid off track.

    The race is far better now than it was before. Can have a bad start and TRIBBLE up and still place well if you do everything right. But you have to pick your path and which boosts to take and which to skip. Having said that, the board deactivation thing is annoying but haven't had it happen too often. And I've also had a 2 instances where I couldn't grab a flag as the UI wouldn't come up. very strange that one.
