Maintenance times

I love the fact that you are you taking of taking effort to fix bugs and other thing, but can you change your times, even if just once, to 14:00-16:30 Pacific instead of the other way around and TRIBBLE USA Players rather than keeping giving the middle finger to Europe?
Maintenance in our active timezones, two days in a row.... Do Gaming Companies, like you Cryptic, really hate Europeans that much?....

All sarcasm despite, two patch days in a row, really?! Could those not have been consolidated into just one? (Like today's)

I thought that 2:30PM to 4:30PM would be working hours in most parts of Europe.

Cryptic don't own their game servers, they rent space at a server farm in Boston, as a result I suspect that the maintenance times are done to suit the server farms owners, after all 06:00 PST is 09:00 EST and the start of the normal working day (and wage) for the server techs.

Cryptic use UTC when giving times for Europe, most are currently using daylight savings, so for me in Scotland you can add an hour to those times, but for others in the EU you can add 2 or more hours to the listed times.

Yeah, never mind the time of day, what's up with "Scheduled Maintenance" two times in a week, in fact two days in a row?

What was fixed yesterday that was so game breaking it couldn't wait until today? Cuz they broke the game (took it down) in order to fix it an extra time, with less than a 24 hour heads up. That doesn't sound "Scheduled" to me.

I'll agree that the 2 days of Maintenance in a row is silly. Especially considering how little is being done today, makes no sense it couldn't have been done all at once.

As for the times, Cryptic is a US based company and they do the work during their office hours. No matter when they do the Maintenance, it's going to be inconvenient for someone.
    Insert witty signature line here.

Hey OP, please provide a range of hours where everyone on the entire planet is either asleep or at work.

There have been numerous threads on this subject, usually around maintenance times. And it has been answered the same each and every time. Cryptic is a US-based company, so they do their maintenance during their regular office hours. And that isn't likely to change anytime soon, or probably ever.

Their maintenance time for me is 9:00am-11:30am, as I am in the Central time zone. I know this and am usually awake around 6-7am anyway, so I can get in an hour or so of playtime before it starts, then pop my launcher about an hour before it's scheduled to end so as to have that updated before the servers come back online. I plan for these things each week.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

Yeah, this is actually in the FCT sticky.
    Scheduled Maintenance downtimes
This comes up quite often with people asking why downtime is always at the same time. The reason is very simple - the server population is at a low point during those hours, and it is close to the time developers come in to the office. Do realize that unscheduled maintenance (example - crashes) and emergency maintenance windows are unpredictable and can happen at anytime.

And it just makes sense from a business standpoint, really...... You're going to do your maintenance when the most number of your technical people are available during the time where you would knock off the least number of users.

Currently it does not impact me, sure..... right now maintenance times are during periods I work. I have worked hours though where maintenance times cut into my possible play time and I had to deal with it too. That's just life.

There are extra maintenance days just after a major game update goes live.

In other news: water is wet, the Pope is Catholic, and General Francisco Franco is still dead.

Another one of these? boy if I could get a dime everytime someone wrote a similar post...
I think a similar post was number 2 when STO launchedday one...It's a business practice going for over 5 years. Except for emergency patches not sure they have the infrastructure to cater to individual requests for patching times tiger-2.gif.

Lots of other MMOs have similar schedules weekly (set at exactly same times) instead of being customized to players individual needs mouse-14.gif
