23rd Century Arc thoughts (spoilers)

All-in-all, I love the expansion. I'd be happy to stay in the 23rd century. However, I really felt pretty uneasy letting the Defiant go un-rescued and later being deliberately sacrificed by Daniels. It reminded me a great deal of rolling into Iraq knowing that I personally didn't matter and would be sacrificed without hesitation.

The dramatic effect is great, but ouch Cryptic. I left that mission angry and distrusting of Starfleet. Yes, I'm probably taking it too seriously. Cryptic, please don't pull that particular trick on me too often. Either abandoning fellow captains and crews or being myself abandoned.

Ever seen the tholian web? We left it there for a reason (granted yeah, we did it a little too easily but it makes sense)

Really? I liked the missions but the expansion was nothing other than a money grabbing exercise by Arc Games. Half a dozen 23rd Century missions then straight over to the Federation faction mission tree, whilst the 25th Century got three extra missions, none of which progress the story in any meaningful way. did not represent gaming content.

The introduction of the new ships and equipment from the Kelvin timeline are just for the foolish and/or rich amongst us to throw away money. I know this game is free and I'm happy to dip into my wallet occasionally when I can afford it, but I expect a lot more gaming content before something is called an 'expansion' because the only expanding this did was Arc Game's bank account.

x13a we have left that defiant here for the sake of TOS episode "tholian web" to happen

is said episode Kirk with enterprise goes to check up what did happen to defiant which has got lost somewhere aroudn that area, only to find it phasing in and out - just like we left it when kirk beams over it to investigate defiant phases out with him and tholians arrives - I won't tell you all the ep now but who knows how much of history that is official canon pre-daniels we would reverse by trying to safe defiant

thats also why daniels said that it is most difficult part of a time agent job - he would have loved to safe those people - but that would mean changing history already

It's been so long... Do they even find any corpses?

Maybe the crew actually was saved/captured?

The Defiant crew? Had literally killed each other with their bare hands because of the effects of the interspace pocket on humanoid neurology.

You know, a brave, honorable death to uphold the Federation's values. :)

Ah, well. Sucks to be them, I suppose.

But maybe their horrible feat was the reason for one scientist to find the cure for interspace pocket madness, thus saving billions of people from this horrible fate after an unfortunate incident interspace pocketed a whole planet...
