Can the AoY Battlecruiser be upgraded to T5-U?

It's a valid question, and imo should be. I found it alittle dumb our TOS flavored Captains get period-themed ships all the way up to T5, but afterwards we have to knuckle-under and settle for the same ships everyone else is using.

I mean it's alittle weird nearly 200 year old ships are up to par with "modern" ones to begin with, but it's a video game that's set in a sci-fi future. so realism isnt exactly a huge factor. XP

but my original question stands, can they be upgraded? because it would be pretty cool and would keep our AoY vintage Star Trek flavor alive, and since the AoY pack will likely be 50-100 dollars it would make buying it more worthwhile since we can actually -keep- using at least one of the ships we spent so much on. (especially if a fleet T5-U version of the vintage battlecruiser is available)

Also how cool would it be out-performing all these ultra-future sleek shiny glowy temporal ships with an allegedly out-dated flat grey colored ship. amirite?

the T5 ones should be able to be upgraded to T5-U as they're C-Store ships However if you own the old ships and their T6 version like the ranger and paladin then you can use the old skin if you wish to.

Yes, the T5 will be upgradable to T5U, also the T6 ships can use the TOS skins from lower tier ships, as has already been stated by Devs.

Ok good, I havent been up-to-date on all the AoY stuff. Just had the thought when I woke up and figured it'd be better to ask now than wait a month when the expansion comes out. B)

The blogs have not said that there will be a T5U Ranger nor have I seen any Dev say that there is or that leak sites say that it exists and until you can link the page that say there is a T5U ranger please don't assume that there is and give other false hope.

The main question to ask is why get a T5-U Ranger when the T6 Paladin is supposed to be able to look like the Ranger if you so desire?

Yeah, that one's my plan. Full T6 on my Ranger, none of this T5U halfway silliness.

All T5 ships except the mirror ships (which are properly T4 ships) can be upgraded to T5U.

While true, T5U was created before any T6 variants were made so that already owned ships would not be useless, but since the ranger is getting released at the same time as the paladin the Devs most likely did not see a point to do a T5U ranger.

Some people might balk at paying $55 for a ship, when they've got a free upgrade token lying around.

Something just occured to me guys.....

As LTS'ers get a free vice admiral token for each character to get a free cstore T5, if your fed you get three options, several options for Roms, several options for KDF. Since this is a new faction "as much as the romulan faction" will we be able to claim a free T5 ranger for our TOS?

That would be nice since that is on my list to get individually and would save me some money.

One reason to prefer the T5U versus a T6 is they may not want the temporal whatever boff seat or the alternative, may not want the convoluted temporal whatever mechanic, or care for the trait even though that is transferable. Someone may want a simple plain jane stripped down ship....

What 55 dollars? The T6 ships cost 30, none of the individual ships cost 55 dollars.

They were including the Ranger with the Paladin. Which doesn't make sense since you need to pay at least $25 for the T5-U Paladin.

According the blog, the lower tier ships have the Temporal Whatsit stuff too, just not BOff seating.

A Paladin with the Ranger skin would require both ships.

It is very likely that they will be introduced to the CStore with a introductory discount like other releases. So factoring a 20% discount both ships would be 4400zen. But i think the introductory offer is more than 20%.

The introductory discount is the AoY pack. The Romulan and Delta ships did not come out with a separate discount, you needed to wait until the next real ship sale.

Incorrect, if youve seen the new ship releases in the last year you would have seen that a newly released ship gets about the first 4 days or so at a discounted rate.

For someone who has over a thousand posts i expect more of your knowledge.

It is directly analogous to the romulan and delta packs, as it is also an expansion launch ship pack, so looking to THOSE examples for precedent makes far more sense than looking at more recent individual/3 pack/9 pack releases.

Exactly. Why would they devalue their big pack on day 1 by selling the individual ships at a discount? I suppose it could happen, but I would doubt it. Besides, not every new ship release DID get a discount on launch; I know that the Pilot escorts and the iconic cruiser pack (Andromeda, etc) didn't.

I am not talking about the packs. I am not concerned with what the packs do.

I am talking about buying individual ships. All the ships in the pack can be bought individually.
I guarantee you at least the T6's will have an INTRODUCTORY OFFER.

So? those are a lesser discount than the pack.

Um, i didnt start the conversation about buying ships individually, just participating. If that was directed towards me. People were saying its $55 dollars, i was saying thats not correct. Not sure if i understand your question.

Not everyone wants the pack, and thats okay, we can all buy what we want. SMH

Where your character travels to their subjective future to defend that future's subjective future from alterations to the future's subjective future's past. :innocent:
